Darkheart problem?

Curious if anyone else has this problem, or if it's just me....the other day, I went to work on Gen. Darkheart, the boss at the padres beach. He disengaged, and now he's untouchable and not attacking--just miss, miss, miss, no damage, and he just stands there.

I came back to him today, and still the same thing. He's basically out of play for me now.

Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions for solving it, if it IS just me?

I've had that happen to me, but not with Darkheart, just other enemies. I didn't really need the guy for anything so I let it go. But perhaps try taking some buddies with you and see if they can kill him. If they can, just get a few hits in before they kill him off.

Try changing servers and see what happens.

yeah, changed servers, that didn't work. logged off and on, nothing. Buddies couldn't hit him, either. Strange....

That has happened to me with various NPC's since the updates. As I approach, it diesngages, then it does not "recognize" me as an enemy. Had it happen with Darkheart and Navy in Fort Dundee, as well as EITC in Beckett's Quarry.

Did it eventually change, Rackrat? I hate to think I'll never lob another grenade at Darkheart again, lol. I can deal with losing the occasional npc, but losing Darkheart would be a blow to someone like me who's in that grinding leveling stage.

Yea, it changes back, but generally after another player(s) take it down. Then it resets.

I've had it happen with Darkhart a few times. We can have 5 pirates attack him all at once and nothing happens, he just stays disengaged. Change servers, doesnt change. I had it happen with Venom Lash too, about 20 minutes after I read this post. Same thing, attack attack, nothing happens, change servers, still disengaged.

Did you try logging and switching weapons?

i had the opposite effect with him. i attacked and it didn't attack back. i killed him 10 times before it attacked back.

I had it happen on the swamp gator in tortuga right before you go to misty mire.

This bug is caused by when a player attacks an enemy then runs away from the enemy then the enemy " disengages ". But sometimes the enemy gets stuck in this "disengaged " state, and other times the enemy will be able to attack you but you can't attack the enemy ( this does not occur often ) but when they are like this they cant move and usually if you run away again and make them disengage they return to there normal state where you can attack them, if there not attacking then i guess you just have to wait for Disney to reset the server the enemy is on.

when this happens to me i just usally make some fun out of it and exclaim "You broke him!".

It happens when some pirate gets in a fight with the npc and they run away, leaving npc taunting that pirate and running back to its original spot.

this happens frequently and gets very annoying. i hope the gms fix it.

the best thing to do if you are fighting darkhart is lvl up with timothy, instead

There is a way to attack dark hart and not have him attack you.
first attack at slight distance with a pistol and then slowly fire at him while inching forward stop just as he stops tossing daggers and draws his sword.

You are now to far for his sword to hit you and to close for him to use daggers.

continue to hit him with ranged attacks till he dies using the weakest attacks you have.

you can get up to 100 exp plus crew bonus per each weapon and once got 450 exp
and was averaging around 250 xp plus.

if someone comes along while you are doing this he will go crazy and chase and attack and will take a long time for him to settle down and reset.

remember if you use this glitch you have to use RANGED attacks so sword is not going to cut it.

He is great for leveling nades.

Yeah--I haven't been able to get him to fight me for days, It's always disengage, disengage, disengage. Once that happens, there's no attacking.
