This is off topic but they do server maintenance all the time late at night. They just do it at like 3:00 A.M. or something along those lines.(Of course you might stay up late with this game.

Basil do you know what you just did!? You just typed everything i wanted to say but couldnt put it into words. I agree 100% idk what they are doing but their game is dying. Guilds are falling apart because members arent logging on because there is nothing to do.

Sad Ending

Disney needs to get more creative with Pirates online. They at least need as much as 70 people in their staff, they need to be more generous instead of greedy and when I mean by "generous" I mean generosity seen on other games like Runescape or World of Warcraft, they need to put tons of items, etc: at least allow basic members to buy the cutlass's from shops and add 10 more that are only available for members? They need to add more features and get more creative.

This maybe asking to much but I shall say this to disney. Don't be afraid to add more features to Pirates online, you shouldn't be afraid because you are one of the worlds largest media corporations and earn up to $35,51 billion dollars a year!. As encouragement, look at Jagex, the inventors of Runescape, look at Blizzard, the inventors of World of Warcraft. They started from scratch a few years ago and have earned over 1 billion dollars!.

I know you guys may not be keen but you should keep advertising Pirates online and expand it abit! I know this is abit overwhelming but It can be done and it would be easy for you Disney guys because you do not start from scratch, you start from an media empire. Put adverts on Foxtel maybe? put POTCO adverts on the Disney Channel which my sister watches?

Just do something eventful or this MMORPG would have been for nothing,,,

I totaly agree with what most ppl are talking about 100% the game is dying off i am in a guild called ocean gods it's dying off after about a year i have been with that guild for about 5 months i have seen a major drop of players and less unlimited i was unlimted for a few months and got tired of paying them to do nothing with the game hell there not even fixing glichs right any more.

The point i am makeing is yes they are starting to suck less people are playing well now that auto ban is out two ppl in my guild got ban for 2weeks and one was for 6 days heck you cant even trust the chat room any more.

It's to the point i am getting tired of playing the game my self.

I have two masterd pirates and working on a third i wish they would bring the new stuff in soon getting tired of just doing the same quest over and over.

If they would bring the new stuff in people would come back and play ten times harder then ever these hints i dont like it when they have them merchantile guild things with the black guard i say let them get cought way should we waste are time sticking up for them .And on top of that stuff like that really lag's the game.

The game lag is all so bad some times .

I would like to keelhaul disney to get them into gear

Good thing i dont pay 10.00$ a month any more i only use game cards.

There is no challange for me any more

Get it into gear Disney

This may very well in be part because PIC has been picking up alot of those whose guilds have gone the way of the dodo... as in disappeared. Maybe not, but as smaller guilds fold, pirates look for larger guilds hoping for some stability.

I would imagine that even PIC has noticed a drop in number of members online at any given time (I could be wrong).

PIC is a large, and well managed group (kudos Savvy!) your member base works on creating more things to do as a group helping to breath more life into this yes.. dieing game.

A comment was made about "test". Nothing new on test that I have seen on the test pirate I have access to. Matter of fact, it seemed to me the "Muertos Moon" in this case made it on open BEFORE it was on test this last week or so. I havent frequented test lately as i'd been busy with the holiday and family.

I know that is how Dueces Wild is picking up a few new members!

Sad, but true, again.

Sometimes the only thing to look forward to is "the game, within the game" that each guild does. Guild activities are the only thing some people have to look forward to. And yes, Kudos to Savs and the other players who keep the game interesting..

Nicely put, Basil. Couldn't agree more.

I love playing POTCO but when it comes time to renew my account in February, I'll pass if there aren't some new BIG updates by then. I don't really understand why they're developing a Cars game (don't get me wrong, I LOVE the movie, but it's been merchandised to death...but obviously its still selling, so...) but they need to remember us Pirates too.

I also agree with Zep...haven't seen a maintenance notice in a long while, but I also could have missed it.

Literally all but 5 of my friends haven't been on in months. Those 5 are ones I've made since summer. My guild is defunct. I've deliberately put off BB on my main pirate just to keep me something to do at some point, but have been thinking of going ahead with it cause I'm sick of seeing it in my journal. It just stinks to be paying for something that seems to be going nowhere... =(

I have a L40 pirate and have mastered everything except 'nades and I am now too bored with the game to do that, I recently fell back to limited because I felt that Disney giving me enough value for my monthly $10.00 so I refuse to give it to them any more until that value has increased with some REAL updates.

I have only been playing for the last several months myself. I get on when I can, but even my son (the little brat who got me hooked on Pirates) seems to be getting "bored" with the lack of things to do.
However, we ALL have the choice to play or not to play. The one's who stick around will eventually get what we are looking for (at least I hope so). Remember: Good things happen to those who wait! (My feeble attempt to look at the rum bottle half full).

Just wanted to throw my thoughts out there...

Now...

Where is me rum?

Amen Basil! When I first started playing at the beginning of November last year, I was looking forward to a lot. I leveled, started PIC, sailed, PvP'ed, etc etc. When I hit lvl 40, I was getting pretty used to the game's repetitive system of announcements and events. I was anticipating major updates such as SvS but after a week, you get used to it. Now, for the Founder's Feast. I thought that what the GM's said would be a surprise would be a lvl up for lvl 40 players or something along those lines--instead, we just got super tonics and a chance to socialize--something I do everyday anyway.... Fully mastered pirates do not need super tonics and if my obversations are correct, Disney is just excluding the ones who have achieved full mastery.
These kinds of rants have been posted LOTS of times here--I'm not surprised that Disney hasn't even been listening. Instead of raised caps and new islands, things that people request, we get Harkway ships (what ever those are) and the ever expected "Jolly Roger's curse has returned!"
I've been playing for well over a year now. At this point in time, the ONLY thing that keeps me playing is PIC and the other great friends that I've had the pleasure of meeting. I'm sure others feel the same too about their guilds and friends....

LOL Apparently Sawyer has a lot of friends who are just as bored with the game ITSELF as the rest of us.

Egads this is a depressing thread! If I had not played POTCO before, I certainly would look somewhere else for an online game after reading this. Maybe part of the answer is the age limitations. I have seen too many young ones on-line crowding up the servers and running around acting like young ones. If Big D would raise the age limit maybe they could divert some valuable time spent in filtering chat and banning people for yelling YAHOO instead of YIPPIE to upgrading the game to please the people who actually delve out the money for play time. It's a difficult task to balance a game between kids and adults... so just make it for adults! I know this is Disney...but you can't cater to everyone. Or has Disney made enough money on the game thus far that they just think that putting out another movie will increase their profits? Not in this economy, baby. Give these knowledgable pirates some satisfaction...they have been loyal to POTCO...why doesn't Disney return the favor?
