It's really annoying, I agree. When ships used to drop gold, that was nice. The occasional gold drop helped much. But when Disney fixed that, I thought "Well, what's the point? Aren't we supposed to be looting the ships?"

Having the loot container system, seems a little pointless to me now. It makes things longer, and things are harder to get. Getting stuff from the enemy like we always used to would be much better than making your way to a Loot Skull Chest that has a Rusty Cutlass in it.

The fact that it slows down the process of earning easy gold in Kingshead just annoys me. The fact that you rarely get anything good from Loot Skull Chests shows that this Loot System is a waste of our time, the slowing of the gold earnings in Kingshead adds to the lowered rating of this all. I'm seriously doubting this is all that's cracked up to be...

I'm sorry for everyone's loss of the great Kingshead Grenade Training/Gold Earning spot - truly.

The game we once saw as "too easy" has just gotten a step towards "a little harder." And honestly, any type of challenge is welcome

I remember back when Naben and Remington required a crew to defeat. Now that could be you and 1 healer , yet still a crew. I remember when 5 to 6 pirates would attack Naben and three of them would still be going to jail. I remember going to tormenta where is you did not have a crew, you were going to jail. I remember the Pearl battle actually meaning something hence the 'Teleport for Boss Battle" requests daily.

I took my lvl 30 and beat Naben, and then Remington. Never used a potion or a healer. I loaded a lvl 3 pirate ( need a crew afterall ) and completed the Boss Battle alone while my lvl 3 continually filled my rum mug. Took the Pearl on a 30 minute cruise I did. fast ship. Spent a hour in Tormenta just shooting spineskulls and flotsams because I KNEW they could not hurt me seriously.

I have 4 pirates with 200k gold. My lvl 30 has 35k gold, and a war frigate, large cannon barrel, large nade sack, you get the picture.

I dont like not getting gold for defeating enemies and I hate the drops for not at least providing something more than a rusty cutless. But to say that makes the game harder when Disney has gone overboard with making it super easy , just does not make sense imho. I'm all for making it harder again ( EITC and Navy Fleets as an example ) as long as the rewards are substantially increased.

I have to agree with Mags on this one I like the drops. Yea you dont get gold little by little any more but you can get it in bunches. I usually do not have to walk around the fence on KH most of the time just walking up to it is close enough and the few times I do is it really that long of a walk. We do need higher lvl enemies now with the new weapons it is easy to kill Dark heart in 2 shots or a lvl 50 Thrall in one. A nice real challenge would be welcome in the game.

I once dared myself to go at Neban/Remington alone - when I was Lv40. It took a lot of rapid weapon switching, but I did it. Now he's a push over at Lv50 ( Not hating on the Level Cap boost ).
Tormenta wasn't hard for me for the most part.
The Boss Battle back then was pretty tough in my opinion. The forts took a while to bust down, and they did some decent damage to us ( ESPECIALLY the last fort ). The Goliath's HUGE War Frigate frame made it very defensive, plus it did a TON of damage - especially since by the time you got there, you were most likely in red or low yellow.
Now I can solo it with my eyes closed. And pretty much EVERYONE can at some point.

The very last bit about making Navy/EITC Fleets harder and making the rare item drop rates a tad bit higher, but in my opinion, I thought Pirates Online became EASIER over the years. I'd have to disagree with the fact that POTCO seems to be getting harder. I believe that it's gotten easier - but that's just me. I mean, we all have opinions.

However, I CAN say that the fact that getting 800+ gold occasionally from some containers is a bit dumb considering that along with that much gold, you get crude weapons, and that's where I have to partly agree with you. I don't want gold to be stopped from being dropped, but I DO want the amounts being dropped to be slightly lowered.

Fire Tigress just turned 30 the other day and completed her staff quest. After getting wither, I brought Jag on as a healer and sailed straight to Kings. I had read this post and decided to pay attention to the gold drops. Yes, there were times when she didn't get a dime. However, about every 4 to 5 sets she got a gold skull chest and most of the time it was full of gold, sometimes as much as 700 pieces. This more than made up for the occasional drought. Most of the time, she did get gold drops. It was easy to pick up, as she was using staff and was right beside the drops (as opposed to leveling nades and having to run around the fence )

I'd just like to add in, that with your statements of the lack of gold, remember that the lower levels are getting tons of new weapons that are worth 20 or so gold a piece. If you think about it, 1 out of every 5 or so enemies, at the start, drop either gold or a weapon. I'd also like to point out that the lower level enemies that used to drop gold everytime only dropped around 5-10 gold. Therefore, though it is a little more work, in the end they're getting almost (perhaps a little lower) the exact same amount of gold in a days plunder.

I'd also like to agree that, yes, more challenge is needed.
Disney has (id like to imagine) a plan for our future. These strong weapons, and being able to defeat high level bosses with a single healer, must be leading up to higher level/more challenging enemies. At least thats what I'd like to believe.

That "new island" stuff that everyone was buzzing about for a while seems to have gone down. I want to assume that these islands were going to have some great new challenges. Seeing as the NPC's stopped talking about them, we may have to wait a little longer, but for now, im really enjoying the potion brewing and new loot system.

Edit: I also would like to recommend that Disney make the rarest weapons a little bit harder to find. The reason I say this is because I'd also like to see player auctioning/trading in-game. This would bring another new perspective to the game. Again, it's probably a long ways coming, but id really like to see it in the nearest future possible

Maggie, I know you were quoting Captain Del's final line of his post there, but something in the software messed up - it currently looks like you are making that statement! Since the rest of your post says EXACTLY the opposite, it looks rather confusing.

Aye, I could never understand why you had unlimited lead shot, and round shot. Yet you could not have unlimited explosives. I am very glad to see the explosives symbol with no number below it.
