What's He doing out here?

My second pirate was trying to level at fort today. She approached a level 17 veteran. After slashing him a couple times with her sword the veteran began a waltz around the fort. Caught up with him again and began to fight...the same thing happened. I chased him around a couple times becuz his health was half gone. But everytime I engaged him he quit fighting and began waltzing again. I finally got tired of chasing him and began exiting the fort to the quaint comment of "That's the worse pirate I've ever seen"! Duh???

Tried to commit suicied by jumping off wall, survived, got hungry, and went to Taco Bell.

Wow, lol some of these don't make sense. (Sorry if that's rude) But this is what usually happened with something like this. Somebody either set this Mercenary off or started fighting it and the Mercenary was too much of a fight and they started running. Once he disengages, he either goes back to the place he started at...OR, he stays in that place. Most of the time they hit you once or twice and then disengage again.
