The last time the developers talked about the Kraken they told us in 2009, and said he would be in the game by the end of the year. That didn't end up happening, but the Kraken itself should be completed, unless something horrific happened during the design process.

From the looks of these pictures the developers gave us a year ago, I think he's going to look better than before.

Let's face it, though, this whole Kraken talk is useless. He's coming, and the developers literally said in the developer diary a while back that he was the plot for the second story quest. Whether the reason he's not out yet is because the developers want to release something else out first, or because the second story chapter isn't finished is beyond me.

There's nothing else we can do but wait. Unless, of course, someone wants to contact pirates and ask them about the Kraken. Probably won't get more information than, "The developers are working hard to finish him."

P.S A likely problem is voice overs for the cutscenes. They do try to use the original actors from the POTC movies for the cutscenes.

Nice job finding those pictures, macironhawk, but, the kraken mouth picture is exactly the same as the kraken mouth in the end of potc 2, dead man's chest.
I've talked to alot of people about the whole kraken thing, alot of people claim to have seen it, or have it devour their ships, or even take them to davy jone's locker, but (Mysteriously, yet obviously) None of them have screenshots.
The grape shot thing was one of the biggest things that led me to believe that there WAS a kraken, yet, I have sailed all over the caribbean, and yet I have not seen one, there was a screenshot, though, of a silhouette on saint patricks day, when the water was green, but anybody could edit in a silhouette.
They obviously, as everybody else on this forum has said, planned for a kraken, found out that they couldn't get it done in time, and pulled it from being released at the end of 2009.
Anybody seen the new commercial on disney channel? With the get-connected kids talking about potco?
You see like.. a million shots of the kraken in it.

Eric, no it's not.

The mouth was created by the developers. You can clearly see that it's a model made for the game.

The Kraken mouth is no where near as detailed as it is in the movie, although it's pretty good for a game.

The developers posted the pictures a while back to show that they were working on the Kraken. If that's the same Kraken from the movie, you better buy a new computer to handle the graphics.

Well, I am just hoping that Kraken eventually will show up, but of course better sooner than later. And still many thanks to POTCO for some really nice and interesting additions to the game.
But need for new story chapter is more than obvious.

As with most MMO's i've played, i'm sure they will add the next storyline when more people have completed the first and hit the level cap.
This game takes place between the first and second movie, thus why there is no kraken. I'm sure the kraken would be brought it when the next storyline for the next movie is brought out as hey.. the kraken was in it.
I've been waiting for the Kraken since I first played in early 2008, so I know the feeling you all have for wanting it to be input, but as many have already said, have patience.

I started POTCO in late 2008, and I believe I've encountered the kraken! I wrote a blog about it called The Kraken Strikes Again. It involves me and my friend but if you don't believe me, I saw it in March 2009 when the seas turned green and they said something large would be coming.
