Disney announces 4th Pirates Movie!

Well on the Audition site, the movie is sooo different. It’s like a flashback!! I personally, don't like it at all. Jack goes with this man (puppeteer) and his daughter and their ship is captured by pirates, which is when he becomes a pirate. Then they somehow travel to Atlantis and such. I mean, if he becomes a pirate then it has to be a flashback right? If this is the way they are going with it, I’m not too thrilled. I am really looking forward to a fourth movie, but if that’s the story, I say stop at the third in that case.

you arent curious as to the backstory of any of the other three? i think a prequel is a great chance to meet our two wanted captains and get a better insight to their characters!

the only thing i fear, is another Indiana Jones and the crystal skull travesty! that was definately one that should have stopped at three. i dont want pirates to suffer the same fate.

(by the way, i refuze to acknowledge the aforementioned movies existance)

One of the biggest factors for its canceling would be the fact that some of the actors for the main characters may not return.

The director wants to keep Will and Elizabeth but the two actors don't want to do another movie. The director isn't too happy about that, but it's not like he's going to bribe them to stay in the parts.

Hopefully there will be a forth movie, though. That's just my opinion, but a forth movie opens up more story quest possibilities for the content in game.

The biggest factor still remains in the firing of Richard Cook. Both Depp and Bruckheimer are unsure to continue with it. If either one of them pulls out of the project then POTC 4 will never exist.

Wait u've got it all wrong Mac. Pirates 4 has a different director and this director does not 'want' elizabeth and will to come back. Gore Verbinski was the director of the first three and has showed no interest in coming back, and a new director has been hired only now. Now where did you get the idea that anyone from the crew that made the film EVER wanted Will and Elizabeth to come back? Nobody even said they were to come back. Their respective actors just said that they aren't interested in coming into the series and also acknowledged the one true fact that the story of elizabeth and william were over. You saw the ending right? One day in ten years, and after the credits william comes back after ten years to meet her when he had soulfully done his job for the given time without even leaving for once? So if william were to come, what will they do? make a story of how he spent his time in the locker? NO! Their story is over, and i do believe that it was meant to be over even for Dead Man's Chest!
Please all of you, get over these two and note that the story for them is absolutely over! the scriptwriters wont make a new story about the both of them and make the audience absolutely disinterested in pirates. Even a prequel about Elizabeth and william would be box officer flop.
The new story is about the adventures of jack and barbossa, while elizabeth retires to bring up her child, and william does his duty of ten years.

No Barbossa is coming into this story. It hasn't been confirmed whether the new movie is prequel or not, but most likely not, so Barbossa will be coming.
Well new ppl for the navy is a good idea....
What about that guy Lieut. Groves who was with Beckett during the attack on the Endeavour by the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman? They didn't show that he died.
But maybe they can make a new navy head played by Tom Cruise!

okay heres what i have to say.
On the note of prequels... there are already prequels based on Jack Sparrow and his adventures battling off Captain Torrents, Hernando Cortez, Davy Jones, Madame Minuit, mermaid kingdoms, dinosaurs, sabretooths, Aztecs, etc. In that he actually hates pirates. I only read half the series, i think he changes his mind on pirates when Teague comes in "Sins of a Father", so i dont think that the pupeteer-pirate-atlantis thing is any close to being a good idea..... Another set of prequels is when he's an adult and a pirate lord, battling the Shadow Lord with the help of the Brethren court, so there is a time difference between the two series....... The first series should definitely be made a movie series....
And what Babidi said is somewhat wrong - the story of Davy Jones is complete, and if a movie were to be made about him, it should be only 3d animated like what happened to Clone Wars, as a film of DJ will not be getting much at the box office... Jolly Roger would also not be put in a movie though i feel he should.
Lastly, Pirates 4 is a sequel, and it is very much true that Johnny Depp and Brukheimer cant give up on a movie who's title has been made already....

Depp has said that the money was no issue. He said that if Bruckheimer wasn't part of it he won't be part of it, and if the story was no good enough for him he won't be a part of it.

So gore isnt directing. Now I have worries about the movie its going to be a spin off movie. Especially without barbossa, will, elizabeth, her father, jones. It seems like only Jack will be brought over and maybe some smaller characters.

Just to let you know, Geoffrey Rush is going to play Hector Barbossa, though Disney hasn't announced his role in it.
He will definitely be coming since he come for the third movie. The movie will have to do without Will and Elizabeth. Elizabeth retired, Will will come only after ten years.
On the other hand the Governor is dead, but nobody said the crew of the Black Pearl aint coming. If Barbossa is coming they are coming. Cotton, Marty, Pintel, Ragetti, rumors of even Tai Huang ( Sao Feng's right hand man, also rumored to have got Elizabeth's piece of eight from her ), new additions like Mulroy and Murtogg ( those two navy guys ), and probably even Joshambee Gibbs.
Davy Jones is dead and we have to live with that - LOL see the irony, live and dead.
