Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28

Looking to earn a little experience? Then join us this weekend for Double Reputation Points and you'll be on your way to a higher Notoriety Level in no time.

The first day of this event takes place this Saturday, September 27, 2008, from 12 PM to 3 PM Pacific Time - so don't miss this chance to build your Pirate's reputation!

Plus, on Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 12 PM to 3 PM Pacific Time, Double Reputation will be extended again exclusively for Unlimited Access Members.

Reassign Skill Points for Weapons
September 25 2008

http://a.disney.go.com/pirates/onlin...vider_line.gif
New Feature to Be Unveiled Soon

Ever assigned a skill point to a weapon and changed your mind afterward? Based on your feedback, soon you'll be able to reassign those skill points! How? By simply visiting any Trainer inside a Gunsmith or Blacksmith Shop on Tortuga, Port Royal, or Padres del Fuego.

Alas, with any great offer, there is a catch - to reassign a skill point it will cost you a small fee, so spend wisely, as the fee goes up each time you reassign skill points. Remember though, each weapon is unique so you can't transfer points to another weapon - but you can fine-tune your weapons skills by losing the ones you don't want, and leveling up the ones you do! This great feature is coming to Pirates Online in just a few short weeks - watch for it!

Powerful New Weapons - Coming Soon!
September 25 2008

Add Level 5 Weapons to Your Arsenal

Impress your friends - and strike fear into the hearts of your foes with powerful new weapon upgrades coming soon! But be warned mate, you must defeat a villainous new class of boss creatures and other undead beasties to earn these weapons.

When new weapons are added to Pirates Online, you'll need experience (note the level requirement) to earn them - and it probably wouldn't hurt to bring a few friends to the battle as well. Good luck - you'll need it!

New Enemies - New Rewards
September 25 2008

http://a.disney.go.com/pirates/onlin...con_undead.jpg See What's Lurking Around the Caribbean

In addition to the bosses we're introducing with the Weapons Quests, there will also be other new high-level bosses and undead creatures lurking around the islands. These new creatures aren't part of any Quests - on the contrary, these inhabitants just want to make getting around the Caribbean much harder.

Heard of Simon Butcher? He's the terrifying leader of a horde of Undead Pirates. Watch out when you're traveling through the swamp, TrapJaw is the leader of a group of Big Alligators & Last, but not least, don't get stung by Devilwing, this boss wrangles the Terror Wasps! You'll recognize each boss by the burning skull logo above their heads.

Avast! We don't recommend facing these fiends alone, for safety's sake it be best to recruit a few friends and take them on with a crew in tow - aye, these may be the toughest foes you've faced yet!

Sneak Peek: Meet the Crew of the Black Pearl!
September 25 2008

http://a.disney.go.com/pirates/onlin...vider_line.gif
http://a.disney.go.com/pirates/onlin...ndry_cutts.jpg Hendry Cutts

Hendry Cutts comes from a long line of woodcutters in the English countryside. Bored to the blooming gills, Hendry made his way to the sea in search of adventure. Cutts found work as boatswain (the ship's fix it man) and soon found his skills were better suited, and rewarded, on pirate ships. Captain Jack took him aboard after a night of ruinous rum consumption in Shanghai. When the crew of the Black Pearl scattered to the four winds Hendry Cutts embarked on a drunken binge in Tortuga and woke up with a hangover& and a wife! While Cutts can't remember saying "I do," it's official, and much to his good luck his new wife, Millie, is both beautiful and well connected.

Millie's the younger sister of Scarlet - a woman of questionable repute who's beloved by pirates everywhere. Despite his first impulse to "make good on the arrangement," Millie's incessant chattering has driven Cutts to the verge of madness. Even worse, Cutts later learned that Millie only agreed to the marriage after he - in a drunken haze - had promised her a priceless necklace that legend says was worn by Mary Queen of Scots on her wedding day. Scarlet is very protective of Millie and uses all of her considerable influence to ensure that Cutts lives up to his end of the bargain. You must help Cutts appease Scarlet by fulfilling his promise to Millie. Once that's done, the scheming sisters will have no further use for Cutts and he's free to join Jack's crew.

I'm glad to see they are progressing the game some for higher level players. Something that they took forever on doing in Toontown.

But you are right. Still lots of bugs need fixing. New content means they are just adding more to be buggy.:mybadki6: There has got to be a better balance between fixing bugs and adding new content.

Chris 09-25-2008 08:34 PM

Yea the last enemy release didnt come out with alot of high level enemies so im glad to see some harder ones coming out im just wondering are they as hard as D describes or is it just an over-exaggeration?

I cant wait to re-do my skill points mainly for Doll i put alot of points on swam and Poke when i should have on Cure and Heal so definatly looking forward to this.

Level 5 weapons seem pretty cool more quests to do i better finish those clothes quests first.

Anyway i cant wait to see these in action!

Harukantos 09-25-2008 08:48 PM

Perfect, thanks for giving me an idea of when to stop paying,
after all, I want new weapons, not new designs for weapons.
I could care less for a cutlass, or a dagger with a little more damage.
I'm just gonna cancel my account because they should at least get muskets or such. So, I guess I'll just cancel my account.

Swash 09-25-2008 08:58 PM

Well I'll have 5 quests too look forward too :).

Competing Pirates games have Pistols, and Cutlasses, and.. umm and.. umm... hmmm come to think of it, nothing else.
We are priveledged at POTCO!

Stormhawk 09-25-2008 09:15 PM

Cant wait to be able to reassign skill points!:)

Redfoote Vader 09-25-2008 09:34 PM

Great News! I like the idea of reassigning a couple of those skill points i regret using in the wrong spots, new quests are always good too.

Maximvs 09-25-2008 09:51 PM

I am SO fixing Pirate #1 LOL!!! Even #2 could us a tune up ;)

Good news all around... and maybe them bug fixes are soon on the way Zep :D

Tommy Two Times 09-25-2008 10:03 PM

at least they are finally bringing in higher lvl enemies!! I was assured by captn' walter that they would be much higher level than me, now what "much higher" means is still to be determined. The sad thing about all this is that there is still no word on a Noteriety cap increase. I cannot bring myself to completing these new quests and just throwing away free noteriety to have a new sword. I am a week away from maxing my 4th pirate. Not looking to good for us old timers in the near future. atleast we will get to kill noobs in the pale moon light on Halloween. That should be fun for a couple hours :laughks2:

swashbuckler II 09-25-2008 10:39 PM

Major tune up for swash II

Edward Edgemenace 09-25-2008 10:46 PM

Wow! Anyone on test, able to estimate what the skill-realloc costs might be?

Edit: I hope it is a lot, like 50,000 for each point, so people have to REALLY think about which points they really care about.

Mr.LoveLocket 09-25-2008 10:46 PM

Can't wait! :D

Wildwood 09-25-2008 11:03 PM

Sweet news I'm glad to see that D is trying to keep us happy.

Yes, but at least they're worth 8+ damage every time we hit an enemy.

Swash 09-26-2008 12:27 AM

Why cant the new gun be a 4 barrel pistol?

Recommend everyone master a weapon before obtaining these upgraded versions.

Because then it would not be any more powerful than before, just shoot an extra shot. Wouldnt be any real impact at all.

And I doubt its going to be a +8 pistol (provided there is even a pistol upgrade). Probably +2 damage. The current quested tri-barrel pistol is only +1 damage (other quested weapons are +6)

Good thing I mastered my cutlass and doll.
It seems as though my staff is only level 17 so I need to hurry!
my pistol is level 25 and 3k away from being mastered.
My dagger is level twenty.
It seems as though I should start leveling my weapons up!

EDIT: Opps my eyes lied to me. Yeah the pistol only does 2+. I must have been looknig at the wrong weapon.

I really love it when they come out with updates for Pirates and always get as excited as a kid on christmas morning to try them all out. But even if there were no more updates I would still play pirates I think. Mainly because I am so addicted to this game, but also because of all the great people I have met there and all the friends I have made, both here and in the game. When I first started coming to POF I didnt join right away I would just come here to read the posts and pick up hints and tips on how to play the game better. A few of my favorite posters were Sarah, Zep and Maximvs. The things they posted really helped me understand the game better and become a better player. To me this site is as valuable as pirates, so I would like to thank everyone involved with POF for the time you give in making this such a great site. You guys are all awesome!! :buds:

just in time about to lvl out

Andrew 09-26-2008 12:55 AM

were still awaiting for notoriety levels to be raised. But all this is a sign that D is actually paying attention. I wonder if the Gms actually noted what we suggested to them. Like co-Gms for guilds, and eye patches (which is basic). Someone DID mention that they were gonna find ways to fix skill points, so it looks like they did this first, hmm...I wonder what'll come after this. Well, guess I cant be greedy (Oh wait, im a pirate, of course I'm Greedy,LOL) So ill just appreciate what theyre giving now.

I am definitely looking forward to being able to reassign some misplaced skill points. I said a little " Woo hoo " and danced on my chair when I read that. Gives me a chance to right a few wrongs with my first pirate. :psmiley35:

Wow, Nik, you can now have my rum stash ;) *throws dirt. We're just as glad to have you here!

Basil Dreadflint 09-26-2008 04:46 AM

Nice, but frustrating!!!!!

I really like the idea of reassigning skill points, especially on my first level 40. I learned there that it is worthless to put 5 points on treasure sense. What good is ti when you have all the ships and are maxed on gold? I made some other mistakes, too.
On my second level 40, I held back 81 skill points as I mastered the skills, then spent 41 of those after mastering. Now I still have 40 skill points, 5 for each skill, that aren't spent, so no need to reassign there.

As far as the new level 5 weapons, Just like the clothing quests, I'm not gonna bother doing them right now. Those are mega rep quests, and to do them and throw away the rep is senseless.... For what? A stronger pistol, for a pirate that is already maxed in all weapons? What does he need a stronger any weapon for? He has no reason to use them at all.

If Disney doesn't raise the notoreity levels, Neither of my level 40's will do any further questing. I'm not gonna spend a week sinking ships to get a pair of pants, and I'm not gonna spend another week to get a new doll that I also have no use for.

You want to keep my interest? Raise the notoriety levels, the weapons levels, The enemy levels, and put out a new chapter of the story line!

Now that I look it over, I wanna see these bosses for the weapons quests, and if they turn out lame, I'll see that the account is closed.
Anyway, If I were to leave, who said I would need a Pirate game? Then again I hope that these boss battles aren't that bad, since I've enjoyed pirates so long.
The problem is, they just don't seem to come out with anything big anymore. I mean, SvS was good, for about 3 weeks.
Then everybody went back to doing old glitches, and you couldn't find a ship to sink on ideal or silent oceans.
I'm just saying that it's not as fun being a Pirate now as before to me.

Awesome! This is by far the best news I've heard all day! It will be interesting to see what it takes to bring down these higher level enemies.

Seems you are right, Sierra, I should reconsider quitting my account, though, I'll have to say, most of my friends are gone now, you seem to be the only one that was devoted, though, we are no longer friends.

Captain Del 09-26-2008 08:04 PM

New Weapons, New Quests, New enemies, AND a double rep weekend? All i can say, is that DEL HAPPY :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Basil Dreadflint 09-26-2008 10:51 PM

Wasn't implying that I was going to stop playing the game, at least, not yet! I still have 2 more pirates to finish. Can't have the 2 older brothers teasing the younger ones about their lack of abilities.

Besides, Seeing the Redflint family as all being fully mastered has me inspired~

That is the date the news of upcoming additions was published.
