Current News September 25 2008
![]() September 25 2008 ![]() Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28 Looking to earn a little experience? Then join us this weekend for Double Reputation Points and you'll be on your way to a higher Notoriety Level in no time. The first day of this event takes place this Saturday, September 27, 2008, from 12 PM to 3 PM Pacific Time - so don't miss this chance to build your Pirate's reputation! Plus, on Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 12 PM to 3 PM Pacific Time, Double Reputation will be extended again exclusively for Unlimited Access Members. Reassign Skill Points for Weapons September 25 2008 ![]() New Feature to Be Unveiled Soon Ever assigned a skill point to a weapon and changed your mind afterward? Based on your feedback, soon you'll be able to reassign those skill points! How? By simply visiting any Trainer inside a Gunsmith or Blacksmith Shop on Tortuga, Port Royal, or Padres del Fuego. Alas, with any great offer, there is a catch - to reassign a skill point it will cost you a small fee, so spend wisely, as the fee goes up each time you reassign skill points. Remember though, each weapon is unique so you can't transfer points to another weapon - but you can fine-tune your weapons skills by losing the ones you don't want, and leveling up the ones you do! This great feature is coming to Pirates Online in just a few short weeks - watch for it! Powerful New Weapons - Coming Soon! September 25 2008 ![]() ![]() Add Level 5 Weapons to Your Arsenal Impress your friends - and strike fear into the hearts of your foes with powerful new weapon upgrades coming soon! But be warned mate, you must defeat a villainous new class of boss creatures and other undead beasties to earn these weapons. When new weapons are added to Pirates Online, you'll need experience (note the level requirement) to earn them - and it probably wouldn't hurt to bring a few friends to the battle as well. Good luck - you'll need it! New Enemies - New Rewards September 25 2008 ![]() In addition to the bosses we're introducing with the Weapons Quests, there will also be other new high-level bosses and undead creatures lurking around the islands. These new creatures aren't part of any Quests - on the contrary, these inhabitants just want to make getting around the Caribbean much harder. Heard of Simon Butcher? He's the terrifying leader of a horde of Undead Pirates. Watch out when you're traveling through the swamp, TrapJaw is the leader of a group of Big Alligators & Last, but not least, don't get stung by Devilwing, this boss wrangles the Terror Wasps! You'll recognize each boss by the burning skull logo above their heads. Avast! We don't recommend facing these fiends alone, for safety's sake it be best to recruit a few friends and take them on with a crew in tow - aye, these may be the toughest foes you've faced yet! Got Questions? September 25 2008 ![]() We've got answers. Can't find the answer you want? Then ask! We take questions via e-mail and answer them in our Player Q&A. Read the latest questions here. Sneak Peek: Meet the Crew of the Black Pearl! September 25 2008 ![]() Hendry Cutts comes from a long line of woodcutters in the English countryside. Bored to the blooming gills, Hendry made his way to the sea in search of adventure. Cutts found work as boatswain (the ship's fix it man) and soon found his skills were better suited, and rewarded, on pirate ships. Captain Jack took him aboard after a night of ruinous rum consumption in Shanghai. When the crew of the Black Pearl scattered to the four winds Hendry Cutts embarked on a drunken binge in Tortuga and woke up with a hangover& and a wife! While Cutts can't remember saying "I do," it's official, and much to his good luck his new wife, Millie, is both beautiful and well connected. Millie's the younger sister of Scarlet - a woman of questionable repute who's beloved by pirates everywhere. Despite his first impulse to "make good on the arrangement," Millie's incessant chattering has driven Cutts to the verge of madness. Even worse, Cutts later learned that Millie only agreed to the marriage after he - in a drunken haze - had promised her a priceless necklace that legend says was worn by Mary Queen of Scots on her wedding day. Scarlet is very protective of Millie and uses all of her considerable influence to ensure that Cutts lives up to his end of the bargain. You must help Cutts appease Scarlet by fulfilling his promise to Millie. Once that's done, the scheming sisters will have no further use for Cutts and he's free to join Jack's crew. |

But you are right. Still lots of bugs need fixing. New content means they are just adding more to be buggy. There has got to be a better balance between fixing bugs and adding new content.

Yea the last enemy release didnt come out with alot of high level enemies so im glad to see some harder ones coming out im just wondering are they as hard as D describes or is it just an over-exaggeration?
I cant wait to re-do my skill points mainly for Doll i put alot of points on swam and Poke when i should have on Cure and Heal so definatly looking forward to this. Level 5 weapons seem pretty cool more quests to do i better finish those clothes quests first. Anyway i cant wait to see these in action! |

Perfect, thanks for giving me an idea of when to stop paying,
after all, I want new weapons, not new designs for weapons. I could care less for a cutlass, or a dagger with a little more damage. I'm just gonna cancel my account because they should at least get muskets or such. So, I guess I'll just cancel my account. |

Anyway, If I were to leave, who said I would need a Pirate game? Then again I hope that these boss battles aren't that bad, since I've enjoyed pirates so long. The problem is, they just don't seem to come out with anything big anymore. I mean, SvS was good, for about 3 weeks. Then everybody went back to doing old glitches, and you couldn't find a ship to sink on ideal or silent oceans. I'm just saying that it's not as fun being a Pirate now as before to me. at least they are finally bringing in higher lvl enemies!! I was assured by captn' walter that they would be much higher level than me, now what "much higher" means is still to be determined. The sad thing about all this is that there is still no word on a Noteriety cap increase. I cannot bring myself to completing these new quests and just throwing away free noteriety to have a new sword. I am a week away from maxing my 4th pirate. Not looking to good for us old timers in the near future. atleast we will get to kill noobs in the pale moon light on Halloween. That should be fun for a couple hours

Wow! Anyone on test, able to estimate what the skill-realloc costs might be?
Edit: I hope it is a lot, like 50,000 for each point, so people have to REALLY think about which points they really care about. Last edited by Edward Edgemenace; 09-26-2008 at 02:29 AM.. |
