Remi's Caribbean Adventure, Part I

Intro

First time posting to this Forum - I wanted to be able to CONTRIBUTE something when I finally went active.

I'm Remi Boncoeur, guildmaster of Square & Compass (Pirate Guild 267 if you look us up on XD)

And, here's my work...

Basically, it all stated when I turned 40 (in game.):
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h.../Intro-001.jpg

I needed something to do, besides levelling those wretched grenades. So, I embarked on a Caribbean Adventure. Essentially, I've gone to every island to look for bugs/glitches, as well as plain and silly photo ops. Here's my set of "vacation
photos."

Never one to give away all of my secrets, I won't be saying how I pulled off each photo - some of them have already been given away on this site, and really it's going to be more fun for you to try them out on your own.

I wasn't sure where to post this, since a lot of these shots are considered "glitches" ... but, since quite a few are just interesting/amusing shots, here we are in "screenshots."

SIDE NOTE: I've done my best to NOT edit these photos in any way, with only one exception - on the "Ms. Swann" pic, I've edited out the dialogue in an effort to keep other pirate names out of this posting.

ALSO, I didn't post a pic of every single time I found a way outside of an area, or inside a tree or bush... I'm frankly worried it's already a little too repetitive. Just spare us all from the "you didn't go behind the bar there!" or "ha! you didn't hide in that house!" I probably did... but congrats on finding it, too!

Without further ado, my vacation photos (with semi-amusing captions):

Port Royal

I decided to start out where the whole adventure began... Port Royal.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-003.jpg

First things first, I wanted to meet up with the old friends who'd helped me along the

way. Off I went to Ms. Swann's house - unfortunately, I stumbled through her fountain

along the way to the mansion...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-014.jpg

She must not have been amused, since she did her best Donald Trump impression:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-013.jpg

Next up was Will Turner, but he was too busy to talk.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-005.jpg

The only person who really had time for me was the one who REALLY taught me

swordfighting!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-004.jpg

Keep in mind that, as an occasionally-undead pirate, I needed to keep a low profile on

this vacation:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-001.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-002.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-006.jpg

Despite any navy hostility, I tried to do the touristy things: See the local sites,

art, and history across the landscape...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-007.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-008.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-010.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-009.jpg

The morbid side of me decided to visit some old friends, too.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-020.jpg

Of course, weird things seemed to start after the graveyard. First off, the caves held

hidden treasures like solitary mine carts and ocean-front views:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-017.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-018.jpg

In a different cave, I wanted a picture with the big skull-spider-thing, but the undead

witchdoctors kept messing up the shot. Instead, I had to stand inside the mountain and

take a shot of it from behind...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-021.jpg

While I was there, I thought I'd try to pay back Jolly Roger for all of his unkindness -

he wasn't fazed, sadly.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-022.jpg

UFOs disguised as shrubbery?
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-019.jpg

Nothing much left to do here, aside from experience the open plains and hollow hedges:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-011.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-012.jpg

I stopped in at the gypsy cart, and heard about some new shops opening up, selling

jewelry and clothing!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-015.jpg

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're open yet.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...tRoyal-016.jpg

"Maybe there are new shops in Tortuga... I could use a bigger hat."

RemiBoncoeur 02-07-2008 12:05 AM

Part II

Tortuga

It didn't help that I sunk my ship en route and had to swim the rest of the way, other

than giving me a nice pic of the town:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-003.jpg

More bad news on shore, too! The seamstress was preparing for the new updates, but

couldn't give me a definite date for them.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-002.jpg

Oh, and before I forget! To anyone who's completed the quests and has bribed this guy

his ton of gold... this felt good.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-001.jpg

At any rate, I got a bit misguided looking around the island and had to use a back

entrance to get to the swamp
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-004.jpg

At least walking around the outside of the swamp for part of the way kept all of the

gators at bay...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-005.jpg

Of course, I had to duck into the little shacks while I was inside.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-006.jpg

Then came the rat's nest, where I went a bit overboard with "Flaming Skull"
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-007.jpg

To get these photos, it took a real leap of faith.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-008.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ortuga-009.jpg

At this point, I went around to the wild islands, hoping for some off-the-beaten-path

thrills.

Sailing

No luck with shipping. First off, one wrong turn takes you to "uncharted waters."
[Point: Before you laugh at my relatively tiny war sloop, I have one of each warship.

Yeah, it's like that.]
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Ship-001.jpg

Even worse, the Kraken kept stealing my ships - once, I ended up in Davy Jones' Locker

with my galleon, The Red King:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Misc-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Misc-004.jpg

Somehow I awoke from that nightmarish place... in prison? Well, nothing to do but

strike a pose!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Misc-006.jpg

With my boat destroyed (in theory), I decided to commandeer the Cuban shipwright's half

-vessel and continue to the wild islands.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Misc-002.jpg

Onward!

RemiBoncoeur 02-07-2008 12:07 AM

Part III

Devil's Anvil

Since it was closest, figured I'd stop in and see my old pistol-giving friends at

Devil's Anvil. Though, I wish someone would've told me about falling rocks - at least a

warning sign or something!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...sAnvil-001.jpg

When I got inside the cave, it seems like Barbossa had fallen asleep smoking a pipe

again:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...sAnvil-002.jpg

This seems to be the only way to have a photo op with Governor Swann.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...sAnvil-004.jpg

He didn't offer me an apple...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...sAnvil-003.jpg

Don't forget about Jack!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...sAnvil-005.jpg

Moving on...

Isla Cangrejos

There was NOTHING interesting here, so I took the opportunity to show everyone where to

find the darn treasure on this island (be warned, it tends to not show up the first,

second, or twentieth time.)
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...grejos-001.jpg

Here's hoping for more at the next place.

Rumrunner's Isle

Who knew this little isle could be so frightening... perhaps it had something to do with

the pack of Were-crabs:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...unners-004.jpg

I had to hide in a little basement, Evil Dead style!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...unners-001.jpg

Of course, in typical horror fashion, the place was twisted and strange - other-

dimension-esque, if you will.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...unners-002.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...unners-003.jpg

Luckily, I kept moving along...

Driftwood Island

Being so worldly, I felt the urge to stand up and shout my views on protecting nature...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-001.jpg

but didn't get a kind response. Instead, I barely escaped decapitation.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-002.jpg

Cutting through a mountainside, I came to Bronze John, who said I could use his cabin to

rest up:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-004.jpg

Again, never a normal place!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-005.jpg

I offered to help him fix his ship, but just ended up... stuck?
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-007.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ftwood-008.jpg

Bah, better to just keep on sailing...

Isla Perdida

Just a quick stop here, first to see Scary Mary...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...erdida-001.jpg

Then to shower behind the waterfall.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...erdida-002.jpg

So fresh, so clean, and continuing around the outer edge to Cuba!

RemiBoncoeur 02-07-2008 12:08 AM

Part IV

Cuba

I travelled to Cuba for a variety of reasons...

Firstly, I'd heard of a gator disguise that threw them off of your scent:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-002.jpg

Also, this tree reminded me of the film, The Fountain.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-001.jpg

If ever there were a "Pirate Heaven," this tavern in the sky might be it!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-004.jpg

However, the barkeep accused me of "breaking the bar" and made me work off my debts,

first as a bartender and then as a host...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-016.jpg

Finally, I convinced the shipwright to save me from the unfair work.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-010.jpg

Now free again, I headed into the swamp to say hi to Tia Dalma - oops, I blinked in this

one...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-006.jpg

That's better.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-007.jpg

I had to rent a boat to get to her, what with all of the diseased swampwater I'd heard

about from friends:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-008.jpg

Tia Dalma was out feeding her pets, as usual
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-005.jpg

BUT, she had an interesting tip for me! "Beyond the boardwalk...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-011.jpg

and down the dark corridors...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-009.jpg

beyond the swamps...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-013.jpg

lies WORLD'S END!"
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-012.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-014.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...O/Cuba-015.jpg

Who knew?

Isla Tormenta

I was really hoping to just skip Tormenta, but stormy weather knocked me off course.

One minute you're happily sleeping in your cabin, and then...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-002.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-005.jpg

I tried sneaking past all of Davy's crew...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-004.jpg

And hiding in the next outgoing shipment:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-006.jpg

I was quickly found, bound, and brought to their leader.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-007.jpg

Luckily, they underestimated me and left me on the beach for the crabs to finish. Too

bad for them, I left before they could materialize!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...rmenta-008.jpg

Back on course, towards Outcast!

RemiBoncoeur 02-07-2008 12:09 AM

Part V

Outcast Isle

Ah, Outcast Isle, the prettiest of them all!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-009.jpg

Unfortunately, there was a cold spell that froze things up a bit - I had to skate from place to place on top of the water! As you can see by my expression, I'm not a cold-weather pirate:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-008.jpg

Don't you think this clearing should be hiding a Master Sword or something?
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-001.jpg

I met a Stump, but it (and he) was short-lived...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-002.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-004.jpg

Listen to the hints, kids: Don't pet the scorpions!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-005.jpg

Oh, and watch out for bugs in the thick underbrush.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-006.jpg

Fortunately, there's a nice place to observe it all from:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...utcast-007.jpg

I heard Padres was acting a bit lively for a volcano, so I crossed the small channel (with the big ships) to check it out...

Padres del Fuego

The volcano did look exciting...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-001.jpg

But I wanted a MUCH closer look.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-009.jpg

After I'd gotten my fill, I used the hidden cave to get back to town.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-012.jpg

I did some extreme vacation stunts, like cliff diving:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-018.jpg

Unfortunately, I missed.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-017.jpg

Nothing like a good haystack to get your spirits high again!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-010.jpg

Besides, of course, a stay at Club Ded:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-007.jpg

While there, I heard about some catacombs with Jolly Roger as the guest of honor...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-013.jpg

But you know me, I needed a closer look.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-014.jpg

... too close. Ouch.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-015.jpg

That ball of green fire had odd effects on me. Soon I could do things like fly, survive fiery heat, and walk on water!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-005.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-004.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-008.jpg

Once that wore off, I did a quick (safe) cave tour over some lava falls...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...Padres-003.jpg

And left towards the final two islands - Cutthroat next!

RemiBoncoeur 02-07-2008 12:09 AM

Part VI

Cutthroat Isle

I always wondered how these islands got their names... I learned about this one the hard way!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...throat-002.jpg

With a bit more fear, I went the Rambo route through the jungles...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...throat-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...throat-001.jpg

And STILL ended up in the weird! How about a sky battle with a Stump? I won, and vanquished him back to the shadows!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...throat-004.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...throat-005.jpg

Last island, and maybe a normal experience...

Kingshead

Does anyone else remember Jurassic Park when they see this entrance?
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-008.jpg

Before heading inside, I wanted to find that second dock on the other side of the island - it took a little climbing, but I made it:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-005.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-006.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-007.jpg

Inside Kingshead, things were quiet... a little TOO quiet:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-002.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-003.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-004.jpg

I searched high and low, from balconys to boxes...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-012.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-013.jpg

but I only found 1 guard!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-011.jpg

Just as I was about to commit to a simple life of farming, though...
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-010.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-009.jpg

I was ambushed and thrown in the old jail! This time, with an awake guard!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-016.jpg

Luckily, I gave them the slip on the way to my execution:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-014.jpg

Good thing, too, since this is what would have become of me!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...gshead-015.jpg

With that, my vacation ends...

Outro

And now, Remi stands on the shores and waits for new adventures to come to him - it's very zen, you should try it.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h.../Outro-001.jpg

Thanks in advance for comments!

Davy 02-07-2008 12:29 AM

Wow, great! Thanks for posting all this. I need to give the link to PotCO in the Report a Bug screen, if you haven't already done it. That is really interesting, with all the bugs and stuff! I want to know how to get into the Kingshead Jail Cells. I want to grenade or staff the Assassin without getting myself torn to shreds!
