Glitching in test server

OK maybe someone can explain this to me.
What is the point of glitching to get invincible
to gain reps in the test server? Isn't the point
of being a tester to test normal game play? If
you find a glitch, report it. Test it and then log out.
Don't sit in the middle of Kingshead field for 4 hours
whacking veterans for reps and gold. That's not testing
anything. I thought the point of the test server access was
to use the game normally and push the edges to see
if anything gives. If it does report it and move on.
Reporting these folks is a full time job since they interfere
with other players normal game play. I've seen navy
soldiers running wild all over the place in thieves den and
now in Kingshead. They get hit once and are glitched till
the server has to reset.

I can sort of answer this from some of the people I have asked about why they do it. They do it to lvl up their pirate faster to be able to do the new content when it is released. I can understand that. I am working hard to get mine up to that point too, I have used the invincibility glitch just to see how to do it and i reported how i did it. If you don't glitch there are other ways to train that shouldn't be there, like one wasp on Perdida I found that does not attack back. Great to train on but I reported it (it's still not fixed, but maybe they will get to it eventually). I am guilty of training on it until it wasn't worth the reps anymore.

I'm not saying what they are doing is right, but I do understand why. Most of the new testers that came in are bored and looking for new content. And you can bet with the new invite that went out the ppl that signed up for it are signing up for the same reason, the new content. I found a lot of ones that just came in with that Open to all invite are actually playing live server more than the test because they get bored with training. The one thing I see happening tho is that the new content will be released in Test and only the older higher level test pirates are going to be able to try it out and it will be released on Live before the "new" test pirates are going to be able to try it out and report anything on it.

I don't know if I will even be able to get to that new content myself when it comes, I spend a lot of time on the test going back and forth between Training and trying to get the Pearl quest done (and of course reporting stuff i find along the way). I am playing it like I do on the live server, and it took me a few months to max out my Live pirate. I don't think the new content is gonna wait a few months. As long as the glitchers are not bothering me or what I'm doing, I'm not going to bother them, or report them (I will report that there is an invincibility glitch tho). I don't see how them hacking away at a boss here or there is interfering in normal game play, unless they have issues with you getting a few swings in on that boss when you need it. And I don't recall any quest that requires you to go after the Vets in the middle of Kingshead, the only thing they were good for was lvling nades when the "didn't" go thru the fence, and training staff and getting gold. So I don't see that as an interference with my game play either.

I do see a few issues in the invulnerability glitches, in this area of disengaging creatures in a entire area. Wild woods I saw this the other day, (maybe pvp related) but not able to fulfill a quest with creature running off the screen and getting attacked from off the next screen over. Some of these quest require certain targets to complete. A officer for example for one of the bar quests, won't work at Fort Charles, you need to find them in one of the caves. Some of these being disengaged causes problems.

I really haven't seen much use to invulnerability and never have used it myself. Making a new character Saturday night, yesterday finished the padres teleport, didn't need any of that to move along fast and go through all the quests checking for errors.

Thieves Den has something going on with it, killing my character after going inside, haven't figured that out yet, with no live eitc there when it happen.

I thought they fixed the enemies disengaging when they fixed the invulnerability giltch using the doors. I know that was annoying having them running all over the place. I haven't been back to those areas since Ed told me they fixed it. I haven't seen any creatures disengaging.

The only use invulnerability has is in lvling up your weapons. It's of no use for the quests because you can't TP with it, you would have to sail everywhere (which makes the quest way longer to complete) And just sitting there aimlessly hacking at stuff gets really boring really fast.

I guess i'm going to Wildwoods and Thieves Den tonight to see if the stuff disengages (unless you're there Ed and can fill us in )

LOL was on my way, but OPEN was down (where it wasn't fixed, last I checked.) Haven't seen it on test since 2/9/2009 when they fixed it there.

Stump on Outcast does not attack. Just stands there and lets u rep off it.
Alas I am mastered but since General Darkhart is absent this is a suitable
substitute for the moment.

I had that happen to me, too. In my case, I'd been poisoned and instead of stopping at one point, it went to none.
