About a year ago, I used to be able to park where the left rock is in SvS now, to sink the corvette that would spawn there, over and over. Big-D didn't like that. So they took most of the corvettes out of the game for a very long time. Especially that one.
Now, they've increased the aggressiveness of the AI, for ships spawning near a pirate ship. Unfortunately, they took out the safety thing they used to have, that would plop the ship somewhere else, (or maybe just delay it 30 seconds) if that spawn zone was occupied by a moving pirate ship.
I have no idea why they don't just spawn that NPC ship on the opposite side of its "circle route" when the primary spawn point is occupied. I really really have no idea why they don't have them spawn at RANDOM points along the circumference of their circle routes.
But the net result, is that anytime I'm sailing in Mariner's Reef now, at least one ship will spawn "on top" of me, on each and every single run I do there. As exciting as this new challenge is, I find it enormously annoying and irritating. Things (monsters, soldiers and ships) should not spawn in the exact same spot.
Even something, like the 7 soliders in the main field of Kingshead...the whole platoon should spawn at a couple separate "zones" or something, so that the group of them is not always in the exact same spot.
For ships, if they spawned at their current spots +/- 1/2 a compass width, they would prevent people from camping on a specific ship in a specific place. Be nice to see the colossus flagship spawn right behind the pirate ship camping on it, for example.
But for pirate ships that are already in battle, spawning ontop of them is just rude.
