I could see much more than just sails. I could see a Steel Frame being added for under the ship to increase damage resistance. Maybe a skull Statue at the front of the ship that grants your ship the ability to heal itself. A Steel replacement ram that can increase ramming damge to enemies. Lot of possible stuff, but it clearly isn't ready yet.
