are in the same place they were before, but now i miss them or they seem to be way further, and lastly so far after the update any ship that spowned next to mine was invisable on the rader ,any one else see this or is juss juss the rum lol.....

Zoom your compass IN. When sea-compass is zoomed all the way in, it is equivalent to the old sea compass being zoomed all the way out. When you zoom out the new sea compass, you see on compass all the ships you can see visually.
Also, I gotta say, I've seen an awful lot of pirate ships sinking today. Open and test. The main factor, is that even with the compass zoomed in, broadsides only go half as far as they did yesterday. Deck cannons still have exactly the same range they had yesterday, so I'm not sure what to report. |

One of the first things I reported was ships appearing do not show up on compass. This really catching you off guard something appearing behind your line of site, while on wheel or cannon. Definitely going to see more sinkings with ships appearing blind like this and first thing you will know is a full hit. |

I don't like the compass now. When sailling it doesn't stay at where you had it zoomed in at when you port and launch back out. Its frustrating to have to re-set it each time! I don't like the zoomed out look since the ships appear closer than they really are. So I zoom it all the way in which is a lot closer than it was before.
So this is one change I dn't care for, or at least make it remember which zoom you had it on. |

The compass really needs an indicator (a notched slider or thermometer thing on the left perhaps) that shows what the zoom level currently is.
Boarding a flagship, the compass is insane, set at sea view with no way to zoom in. Sailing without being able to see what cannons crewmembers are on, is a profound handicap. At sea, the starting zoom being at the wrong zoom level is an amazing handicap. People today are still shooting their broadsides at very very distant enemies. *Related: Broadsides not going as far as they were before the 2/25/2009 update - deck cannon range unaffected. (With sea compass zoomed in.) Being able to zoom compass out to encompass the entire panoramic 3-D visual view is awesome. On land, not being able to zoom out sufficiently, is an annoyance. Tracking ray of light still appears on enemies that I already have engaged, as their distance is changing. Not just distracting; there is some pause while the ray of light blinks. Compass still has no setting to let the right-mouse rotation move with (or without like it is now) the compass spinning with it. Cannon compass still incorrectly switching to ship direction instead of 1st person perspective, with no way to turn that feature off. |

Man do i agree that the compass is messed up. And I too see alot of ships sinking almost did it twice myself. We can't seem to hit them unless real close on our compass, but dang it if they cant get us from futher off. Dont like the compass all!!!

I experienced this problem for the first time today. I was cannoning for a mate and then realized he was gone...so I grab the wheel on his ship. Using the compass as I usually do when sailing alone, I was missing ships and took more damage than I normally would have. I thought maybe it's the ship and not as strong as my war galleon. But I docked after several attempts to sink ships that I normally would have taken down easily. Like I said I thought it was me or the smaller ship I was sailing...but maybe it just was that the compass was not working properly. idk

i dont think it is broken,i think thats the way they wanted it to be,it seems like that in full zoom out radar ,now a ship that was in broadside range before is now about twice as far, meaning u have to cut the old broadside distance in half or so to get a hit.

Chickens, pigs, and other animals get red dots. Don't know why but they do...

Went out on a couple of Boss Battles this morning and the compass didn't work at all. Nothing showed on it no matter what the zoom setting. It was broken for bothe the helmsman and the crew. Very annoying.

Exactly! i've been noticing the same thing. After porting and launching multiple times, my compass is screwed up. Either all the enemies are bunched together, or the whole thing is blank. Also annoying how whe you press the + and - buttons, they show no help. I have no idea where friends and enemies are, and running into unexpected ships.
