Welcome to a game that is full of glitches, has some bugs. a world of fun and wonder, as to where the good quests have gone, when we all figure out, nothing is fun, we quit paying accounts, and begin to run.

Why this poem? well, it only seems to be the new Pirates of the Caribbean online, many things have changed, but are they for the better? Pirates online has received multiple rewards for being a great online game, but was it all really worth it? Over the last year, we have seen multiple glitches found and covered up, but recently, a former walk-off-the-ship glitch has returned. It seems that the updates we also received last have started to cause performance and speed glitches. A great defect of the game.

Many pirates are still loyal to the game after so many bugs and glitches, I just wonder, how much longer will they hold out until they leave the game?

I understand where everyone is coming from with the glitches and the updates and stuff.. but don't ye think we should cut POTCO some slack? It can't be easy to put an online game together in the first place. Now we are complaining there is no new content, but then when new stuff does come out we complain that there are too many glitches.. if they took the time to take every glitch into consideration immediately and fix them before it was released, we would never get any new content. Yes Pirates is taking a long time to fix them but imagine how much stuff they are trying to get ready to be released! Sure they probably have team's working on this but there is only so much man power. And yes, glitches may be irritating or welcomed or whatever depending on what you believe in but again.. its your choice. If you glitch, you glitch.. if you play fairly, well than good for you! But the glitches will be fixed eventually... what matters is that you just deal with them. If someone is in speed glitch, just let them kill you. Make it so its no fun for them, dont give them the pleasure of fighting back. If someone is invincible, let em be invincible.. like people have said, if you rely on that for too long anyway it will back fire in their faces when they are eventually fixed. I think we should cut POTCO some slack..or at least choose what we want more: new content or all these glitches fixed. Because one is going to come first but i dont think we can have both

All games have bugs and glitches (some more than others). POTC Online is a great game and you either take the good with the bad, or you don't. I tend to try focusing more on the positives and sideline the negatives. I agree there was a period of time where updates seemed few and far between. However, it's not all about the game...it's also about the people and special friendships that we acquire. I'm not abandoning ship...that much I can tell you.

Lets see you try to make a working game, with huge map, pretty good graphics, multiple areas, modes, and ships, weapons, and with millons of players and many servers, updating it every week!

So what there are some glitches, they worked hard to make this in a short amount of time, and it turned out okay.

HOWEVER:

I would still prefer some more substantive updates. For example, the new Port Royal, Tortuga, and impending PDF are nice and all, but I have a feeling that there wasn't a lot of complaining about any of those islands. The players want substance. So, glitches? Yeah I'll accept them. But it perturbs me when the glitches are from "improvements" that weren't needed or even wanted.

Raise the Notoriety cap to 60.
Raise weapons levels to 35.
Add additional skills to the weapons.
Add a new story chapter.

If Big D never changes PDF or any other island in exchange for the above I would be far happier with paying for the game.

So why do I still pay? Simple really. I have a great guild and I'm staying for that. Now if they all turn into a bunch of blithering fools and quit POTCO, unless there's more substantial content I don't think an updated Cuba will keep me paying or playing.

How long do we give them slack? Many of us have played with these issues for well over a year already (thats over a year of fees paid). Newer players dont recognize this, but essentially very little has changed over the past year. Much of what Bart eludes to is true...

I concur, I had two pirate accounts, now I have one, that I seldom play because the game is just BORING after doing all the repetitive quests 6 times. I have seen the 'games' that guilds make up trying to entertain themselves, and frankly.. uh, rather silly and stupid most of them are. Like trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, the substance just isnt there.

I hope they do add some worth while improvements, I like Barts list.. it wasnt bad at all.

I have to agree, cutting them slack, that was fine, umm a year ago.

I actually was hoping the mess Tortuga was in that a new Tortuga might be a good idea.

With like 5 glitches in Tortuga and Port Royal before, followed with the 10 now I counted off the top of my head in the new ones. I can't see any point to any of it but to continue not giving what paying customers want. With all the color glitches and other stuff to go along with them, there still is absolutely not a thing to do.

I sure the heck am not going to run around with 40 level characters with max money, trying to get 1000 gold if after all day searching I got lucky.

Forest Gump would win no argument here with his box of chocolates. Because we always know what we are going to get,

nothing.

Time out!!!

We hashed all this "Lack of Content" out months ago in the "Dying or Dead" thread in General Game Talk.

I have sat idly by during all these new releases, watching everyone say how great they were. I held my tongue listening to everyone give Disney all these accolades about how great things were, how nice to see them putting out new stuff.

The truth is, they DIDN'T GIVE US ANYTHING!!!

Redecorating the islands gave us about 2 hours worth of fun trying to figure out where everything got moved to, and that was all it did. There was no "new" content, no new quests, no new story line, no new notoriety or weapons level caps!

I see that it took about a month or so for everyone to figure that out.

Go look at the old "Dying or Dead" thread. It still stands today as well as it did when it was written. (The reason I post this here is to prevent the duplication of that thread here. We don't need to put a hundred repetitious responses about the exact same thing into a different location.)

I fully agree with Bart! Everything he says is correct. Except, I think that Notoriety at 60 and weapons at 35 is still too low. Notoriety to 80 and weapons to 50 or 60 might be more correct.

I actually don't want a total cap, but based on Big D's propensity for giving us a little something here and there, i was just suggesting those as increases for the next story chapter. I would think that those levels for another quest similar to the Black Pearl (realizing it gets increasingly more difficult to level) would match up pretty well.

Well, Lizzy's been playing for almost a year now. I guess alot less time than many pirates. But to me I love the game for the pirates that are me friends and those that could be future friends. Lizzy loves her guild and her mates there. I have tried other pirate games and hated them. POTCO feels like home to this pirate. And although, I only have 1 mastered pirate...I still enjoy the time I spend on site...whether it be ranking, trying to level me second pirate, or chatting to friends. Don't know what the future has in store for POTCO or this pirate wench, but for now I just enjoy each time on site. Ahoy mates and pirate on!

The glitchs would have to be really severe for me to leave the game. And right now, they aren't bad.

There is nothing new here, I knew most this stuff long before it reached live.

Glitches.

Tortuga
Hidden shack.
Doc Grogs to back door of Royal anchor.
Fountain
Swamp and under Tortuga
Empty tortuga jail

Port Royal
Jewelry shop
Hidden shack from tortuga to under Port Royal
2 different glitches at Royal anchor, in side building to balcony.
Under Pr and into Basil and June Greers shop.

What do these mean, nothing, unless we get curse events so people can hide here, instead of content. With double or more the glitches that we previously had, this has to be questioned what is the point?

With several invulnerability glitches left in the game and live, these also are a factor.

Notoriety and weapons has to be increased with new content or bb/chapter or something. With all the maxed characters with max weapon upgrades, what are they going to do with out content. 50 people lined up trying to get to Darkhart?

Took half a day to take James from 39 to 40 and all skills to 24. Without content I guess we will line up taking tickets , to work 42000plus per level. Or go invulnerable.

This is a thread based on glitches, what we got was double the glitches, and nothing to do.

What will Padres bring with a couple glitches, more or less, and for what?

Other than than invulnerability glitchs, or others that can be used to make SvS, or PvP unfair, I dont care about glitchs at all, give us CONTENT.

I find the macros worse myself, so that means these glitches.

There are several places you can stand, and use auto shoot on pistol over and over, hitting stumps that can't get to you. This is just as bad as invulnerability or worse, since you don't have to be at the computer to do it, but to pull up pistol now and then when it gets holstered.
