If anyone has a code, please post it here because it might be multi-use.

The purpose of finding Shamus was so we would get the code for his gold. If everyone had access to the code, then what was the point of chasing after him? The code for Shamus's gold is just that, Shamus's gold that he alone gave. Perhaps next year mate, you shall also earn your reward.

That's what I was thinking. I guess that's why he could only give out 2 or he would have to keep copying and pasting. |

Talk about a wild goose chase, and a serious let down for an event. Whats the point of GM events when there is no rhyme or reason to find appearances??
Its a nice thought, but personally, its downright silly. Theres just no point to it. You could waste an entire day seeking out a GM, or Shamus, but with no method to the appearances, its like finding a needle in a Haystack. I mean, multiply the number of servers times the two island spots they were making random appearances, and then try and find someone. Good luck. I wish Disney would put the time into upgrades we can ALL enjoy, rather than an insane scavenger hunt with little benefits to the majority of players. This was a serious let-down. |

Rather than a silly advertised wild goose chase. Its not about winning, its about participating, and when you don't know where to find GMs, servers to search, or when/where to be INVOLVED, it makes it NOT fun for the majority of people in the game. I could have cared less about the gold, but Id have liked to have seen some GM's or been able to know HOW to participate IF I wanted to. I'll maintain - pretty bad event. |

Telling us where Shamus was would take the fun out of it - to your comment of when and where - other GMs gave hints on where Shamus was, and lots of people found him pretty easily. I don't think it was a great event but it wasn't as bad as stated- I saw tons of players talking about finding Shamus (I think there was only one - and a few Shamuses (or is it Shamus'?) could have better served the ton of players trying to find him). If I were Disney I would consider that mission accomplished. Yes, this was a scavenger hunt which you are totally within your right not to enjoy - lots of other players including myself did. But I do agree that I want to see more story quest and larger scales events that involve everyone - but I appreciate something unique like this every now and then too. In Nelly's point, the 'general' GMs should of indicated better locations on where to be found. It was not easy to locate them (they were not part of 'Shamus' and were supposed to provide general discussion). I agree with this as if it wasn't for several friends who located the occasional GM by random many would of missed them. Posting their location (such as the current event of sailing on "C" servers) should of been made more clear (or their timing be more accurate). In Saltys point, Shams was the 'exception' GM, and his location was to be random. He obviously could not give away his location - for that was part of the adventure I was very unsucessful in locating him and maybe for future advice is limit the number of servers he is on during certain times (for example "B" servers between 2-3pm and "D" servers between 3-4pm

I simply wanted to find ANY GM, not so much Shamus, but I think in BOTH cases, limiting or making designated server times would be helpful, and would certainly make things enjoyable.
Not all of us want to spend an entire holiday, or day even, online seeking out a needle in a haystack event, but WOULD like to participate. If a time, or place was set to see the host GM's, it would make it more 'user friendly'. Ill still maintain that this was a poorly thought out event for many reasons - and I was certainly disappointed, as were many it seems. No gold or Shamus needed, but FINDING a GM would have been nice. |
