I did it the old fashioned way. I reached lvl 50 last night 9/14. i averaged about 14 hrs a day. I did because I could. I have 2 other pirates that are lvl 40 with lvl 25 weapons, a lvl 38, and lvl 24. I can take my time on the rest of these or not, I have not decided yet. I wanted to see how quick I could do it. According to this site I am #25 using no cheats or glitches.

There are plenty of level 50 Pirates that worked hard.
You can level up quickly with a pirate and not be cheating. I just wanted to see how much I could if I focused on that alone for two days. I leveled up to 21 in two days. Granted it is easier with a low level. ![]() I just played smart, no quests except to unlock weapons and teleportation. Kept attacks weak and changed up weapons, used alot of tonics. When I got each new weapon quickly ran it up to level 8. When doll was unlocked I did not leave Cuba until I had cure. Then I attuned multiple targets until Life drain. All pirates deserve the benefit of the doubt. There are pirates that work hard too make leaderboards and level without using glitches. You never really know who is on that account, what they do and how much time they are online. All level 50 pirates out there CONGRATULATIONS, I hope to join your ranks someday. |

Of course you can - at a low level - but what I saw was a player who went from 35 to 46 in about two days. Big difference. And about everytime I went by Tortuga, she ws there. Didnt seem like the 'hours on end' leveling type.
I just wish Disney would do something about the Macros - I dont know if Im the only one, but Im SEEING all the speeders, and HEARING from everyone about the Macro being used. Im just saying - I wouldnt risk my account, or my pirates reputation. But to some, 50 is worth more than that. |

The long and short of it: are there cheaters, glitchers, macro micers and macro keyboarders? Folks playing for hours and days on end that are actually sitting at their computers? Yup. There are in this game, and every other game out there.
Should you let it have effect on how YOU play the game? Don't think so. Have fun being a pirate, be it 20 minutes a day, or 24/7, and let Disney take care of those that are breaking the rules. |

Let Disney take care of the Cheats..lol
Yes I agree. Let Disney police their game and take care of the cheats.
On second thought, seeing as Disney does not police their own game UNLESS you type something they feel is inappropriate, im guessing you are completely out of luck. Disney does not care if you use third party programs, as long as you are filling their coffers. The use of third party programs and macros are everywhere in POTCO. It is also to be noted that it is not like Disney cannot tell they are being used. Disney can tell. It's just that they choose to turn the other way as long as the money keeps rolling in. As was noted earlier, just be a happy pirate who actually knows they have self-worth by doing your quests and leveling the only honorable way. With determination and persistance. Dont fall into the cheats trap of feeling the only way you will have self-worth is to cheat at an online game to make yourself feel like you accomplished somthing others havent. The only thing they have accomplished is the knowledge they couldnt do it without cheating. *This post in no way refers to any individual or entity nor does it infer anything against any individual or group. hmmm, last thought?
Seems there are many people trying to look on the other side of the Ocean and not tending their own waters. Perhaps, if more would follow the path you stated Sarah they would have more time enjoying the game instead of being so critical of others or trying to play POTCO Police. Exactly like Sarah said, You (Pirate) let others actions to affect you only if you allow it to.
Maggie, perhaps I simply did not understand your words here and perhaps this is not exactly what you meant, but it sounded like you meant - Disney doesn’t care about their TOS or the members who they made the game for, all they really care about is money, making money regardless of the product and people? I certainly hope I am wrong and the impression I am seeing in inaccurate and that is not the message your conveying to the POTCO community at large because I feel Disney DOES care about their people, their employees, and their guests just as Walt Disney himself did. Disney cares about cheaters in POTCO, Disney cares about the happiness of it’s members of POTCO and Disney is doing their best to make a quality game enthusiast around the world can enjoy and feel they are living the legend and feeling the warmth of the torch that Walt Disney himself lit long ago. Disney doesn't care about Macros. Maggie hit it on the head. And as a player, the macros and cheats DO effect FAIR players - in those speeders stealing reps, or in PVP, or SVS. We can't FAIRLY rely on the leaderboard knowing that macros and cheats exist.
Paying players should write and ask Disney to start banning those using macros. Period. I play the game my way, which is the way the game was intended to be played. Fairly. When I PVP, or SVS, you can be sure I won't be cheating. So to say 'mind your own' and 'play how you want' would be fair and accurate if the people cheating did not effect us all - but they do. |

I've been a reporting fool - but ONLY when Im absolutely 100% sure of it. I won't flood Disney with false reports. =)

When I play I am also sometimes doing other stuff such as watching tv. So I will be watching the tv while leveling a weapon. And what I end up doing is I'll be telling my finger to hit the attack key to kill the enemy and when the enemy dies my finger is still going which someone viewing could possibly see as me using a bot of some sort. So by reporting this as me being a cheater would be a false report.

I've been away for a while. I played a lot on test and just today I logged on to live for the first time in several weeks. The first thing I ran into was a speed glitch-master sinking every ship around me. His ratio was like 8 ships for every one of mine. His cannon was a machine gun.
I might have mentioned that he was a scurvy cheating dog...Immature, I know. He and his little friend then found me on the beach and began to threaten and complain and generally act the part of the fool. But he did admit to cheating and took a "so what" attitude. And honestly the only thing that bothered me was that he was sinking ALL the ships and leaving nothing for me. Sure, I could have switched oceans but I shouldn't have to. Should I? I did report him though... This new era of third party cheats can chaneg the way I look at Reputation Levels. It could kind of be like the steroid era of POTCO. Cheating just ruins it for everyone. I have already left one game behind because of out of control cheating...and it was free. I hope Disney does get a handle on it. Something like Punk Busters maybe? Is that even still around? |

I have two level 40 pirates, one with all level 25 weapons... But I'm in no hurry either. What scares me most about rushing into re-mastery is this...What if they actually put in a new story and I'm already mastered? Then my entire point of being a pirate is shot all to heck...
