1. Clear your POF cookies, log in again, and try accessing it then. It could be that your cookie has locked itself to a single styleid, which would prevent the skin from permanently changing.
2. Go into your "UserCP ---> Edit Options ---> Miscellaneous Options ---> Forum Skin" and set it as your default for now. That should set it as your default skin and you'll automatically switch to it each time you come to the site.

It's probably locked onto the skin, then.

Also, how exactly do you clear cookies? Also, what are cookies.(now that we're on the subject, that is) Never really needed to know what they were before now.
