The kraken under investigation

ah....there is only one kraken right? how could MANY ppl fight it at once.. kind of non realistic no? anyways... i know there isnt a kraken but at least put it in open sea, just not in treasure map... and in open sea.. you can see it coming, its super fast AND it will go after the ship closest to it....


haha i would like that... ^^ i just like realistic inplanted in the game.. im tired of fantasy games totally..... at least put some realism

The Kraken has never been in the game, the images you posted were from the phase files. In the files there are a lot of things that never make it to the game, or that are going to be added in the future. Guild halls, cannons (as in a new design), and much more, all have been found there. The one thing they have in common, they have yet to be seen in the game.

No one that has been playing on Live since day 1 has ever seen it. Even people who played in Beta didn't come across the Kraken. Plus, if nobody has ever seen the Kraken, there is no way the Kraken has been in the game.


In due time it will come, but anything else as of now is nothing more than a rumor

Anyone remember the rumor that during beta if you stayed out at sea for an hour the Kraken would come and try to sink your ship?

Go http://piratesonline.go.com/#/game_info/video.html and go to the video titled Video Insider 3, The Making of Pirates Online. You can see early footage of a player on a ship shooting at Kraken tentacles.

Frankly, I like talking about the Kraken and speculating. Not because I want to annoy anyone, but because it's better than sitting around complaining about why it's not out and how tired I am of it not being here.

Yes, but the Kraken was still not in the actual game. In the video there is someone (more than likely someone working on the game) fighting the Kraken, as is the case with these images (originally posted by Skullduggery Bones).





The only problem I have with talking about the Kraken, complaining that it's not here, or saying that it is. But even so, someone else summed it up even better in another thread.

uh yes there was it doesnt matter if u were founders there was a such thing as the kraken.

if u cant see that a whole bunch of phase files and pics were on internet of it then i guess you wil never INVESTIGATE the kraken.

Blaster, could you please go back and read the previous posts?

The Kraken has not been in the game. It will more than likely be a future update - if it works out, but as of now, it's never been in the game. The images you see are of the Kraken's intended design, and how they want it to be in the game - but they are just samples, not the real deal.

Could we please stop saying that it's been here, everyone knows it hasn't. If you don't believe us, contact them through the POTCO website, you will get an answer similar to this. When Disney is ready to bring it in for the first time, they will do that.

i have and its not a design and i sent them an email and they said it was but it needed a make over. they said it was in the test server so HA!

There is no real proof mate, no pictures other than those from the phase and the ones from the trailers. I will believe you if you posted that email or some real images of it. Something as big as The Kraken would have been BIG news. And with the number of testers and forums POTCO related that information would have popped up by now.
The information you are providing is like me saying that Johnny Depp plays the game and that I know because I emailed him and he told me so.

um its not in any updates on my test server its probably in disneys test server where they test things

Look through all of the release notes on both Live and Test. Find a single one that says the Kraken is out and i'll believe ya. You should be able to find it somewhere in the.. 4/4/10 - 12/31/11 notes.

Just to let anyone know, any Kraken footage is from an E3 thing that priates did before the game launched. It was just to get people excited for the game.

There's even Kraken footage on the POTCO site, but ONLY of the beasts' tentacles. If anything is being worked on, it's the baddies head itself.
