Old Port Royal, all the way. I just became attached to the islands my pirate grew up on

I like the new one more, but the landscape of the first was more like the movie, which it should be.
I'd like to see them add in a long piece of land and two skeletons being hanged by the ropes like in the movies, just so we get the sense that we're in the movie, and not just some horrible copy. Last edited by MacIronhawk; 03-29-2010 at 04:40 PM.. Reason: typo. |

Old PR. Hands down!! The old PR was much more fun than the new one. There were way more cool things you could do on it. And the flow through the cave system was better.

Hmm, well it really depends. The old Port Royal was smaller and you can get places faster. The new one actually looks more like in the movie than the old one to me. You barely see any of Port Royal anyway in the movies. The new Fort Charles looks waaaaayyyy more like the movie than the old one. So, I really don't know as far as which one I like better, so it's equal to me.

I too liked the old Port Royal better, as it was easy to navigate and also very simple. Just as I had started to be able to find my way around, they changed it to a massive tangle of disorderly paths through town. I do like the new Padres better, though.

I prefer most of the old islands. The new ones are large, but the size does nothing to make them interesting or serve any purpose. The draw distance shouldnt be a factor.
I miss the old PR, Tortuga and PARTICULARLY PDF. The only one that NEEDED a redesign was Cuba. Cuba always was too simple, and still is. |

I Like the old Port Royal but like the new Padres.
I do miss the old Beckett's Quarry. A lot. The best place ever for solo leveling... |

I perfer the new Port Royal than the old one. The old one was accurate to looking like the one in the Pirates movies but the new one has a more complicated landscape and better architecture.

I liked all of the old islands better. Mostly because those were the ones that a lot of people began on. The best part is they were simple. There wasn't a long walk between locations, a lot of buildings, and there wasn't as much lag. That being said.. the only real problem I have with the newer islands.. they were made to reduce lag, yet ever since they were included, loading screen times take FOREVER.

Old Port Royal was superior in every way if you ask me. You could run through the market, across the bridge Jack Sparrow ran on, and into town. Furthermore, as I've said before, the newer Port Royal is too urbanized. I liked the old Port Royal in that you could take a stroll through town, the market was nice, and the river was a nice feature. I particularly liked the little staircases and cobblestone paths. I really, really miss my good friend the dummy. He used to stand just outside the warehouse on the entrance to town.
Another feature they're missing is guards. Anyone remember those cadets that stood at the bridge heading to the fort and the ones in front of town? That was fun. It seemed more cheerful then as well. (Sighs) (Sits back in rocking chair) |

I enjoyed the older models more than the newer models of the islands. Certain caves really needed updates, but the new Becketts Quarry makes me rather sick. I really used to enjoy that place for leveling, and now you just can't really use it for a good round of leveling.

I like the old islands better as well, especially PDF. The new PDF still confuses me, and you can't swim to the back beach!
