The Navy Treasure Fleets are now SPAMMING Loot Skull Chests. Is this the mystery update that we were all wondering about? Is this going to be only a period of time like the first Navy Fleets? What do YOU think?

From April 2, 2010 Release Notes:

"Treasure Fleet ships will always drop at least one Loot Skull Chest when defeated."

This was not the case from then to whenever the update was made. I believe Disney has, indeed, been looking into this and has finally fixed it. Kudos to Big D. Now give me a Cerberus.

just did a fleet one pouch and i killed 5 ships including ship of the line

Fleets always give me bad loot. I cant even find a loot pouch off those ships, then as i was taking my haul back, i shot down a EITC corvette and got a skull chest! what is wrong with me?

Ugh, I hate fleets and never do 'em. So, I guess I wouldn't know, eh? Random enemies are giving me better loot, though. Amazon throwing knives from a Raider... How does that happen?

i sunk the whole fleet with 2 ships and i got no skull loot chests and from the sotl i got only 2 cargo crates worth 24 gold O_O

lol, just got my first famed from sailing from navy treasure fleets.
man they are hard, we were doing epic damage, but barely made a dent on the elites and sotl.

i got a skull chest from a ship of the line...

there was a rare or famed bayonet... cant remember
