Which video card

Well I just bought this:

Processor Type: Intel Pentium D processor 925
Frequence: 3.0 GHz
FSB: 800 MHz
Cache: 4 MB

2GB 800MHz DDR2 PC6400 RAM Memory

and im probably going to get:
Nvida GeForce 8600GT 8600 GT PCI-E

Just save up and buy a stacked laptop. That's what I play on. Basic intel gfx, 1gig ram.

Cool. Yah, the prices on all of the 88xx Gxx cards will be dropping since the 9xxx cards are just around the corner with DX10.1 and whatnot... And yah, if you've got the extra cash to drop for GTX's, by all means, go with that, but most of us don't. Though I bet we wish we did! lol

Anyway, it's an awesome technology, but it's not perfect...yet. Look at benchmarks for SLi enabled games. From what I've seen, you're only looking at a 10-15 FPS increase AT MOST for another $250-$400. Not QUITE worth it to me.

The 8800 GTX is still the fastest card. It's just that the number of stream processors make a much bigger impact on performance than width of the memory bus, especially on the 8800's which already have alot of bandwidth.

All I can say is ATI anything appears to be junk... NVidia, I'm coming back!

Have two ATI cards in two comps, one 256mb and the other 512mb - and I've tried every thing (including a fresh OS install with old/new drivers) and nothing...

Everytime I give ATI the chace - they fail me... yet my NVidia Cards are fine (currentl using an older 6600 to play the game withno issues, but upsets me that I own an ATI 512mb card with much more power thatn the 6600 and cant do squat with it...)

So for those out there ATI and have it working, I salute you - but will be back to NVidia soon...
