Pearl battle alot harder?!?

The best thing to possibly do after defeating attack ships is dodge! Evasive menuevers all the time from all the cannon fire. My guild tried it and I was steering. After 1st gate we hat 9/10 of hull, second 8/10, third 6/10 and 4th 1/10 then we got to the goliath and she sunk us immediatly. But still with not dodging you can sink at the first gate.

OK... We just did extensive testing on this. From what we have gathered, the difficulty of the battle is now based on the total level of all people participating in it. We attempted it with 2 L30+ and 5 L25+ and made it to the 3rd gate. We then tried it with 5 L30+ and 6 L25+ and did not make it past the 2nd gate. After that, we did the same with 3 L30+ and 2 L20+ and made it to the last gate (sank intentionally as to not complete the quest). In order of the groupings, this was found:

Group 1 - Weaker frigates, weaker bridges.

Group 2 - Barely made it through the frigates with 1/2 life, though they sank much faster.

Group 3 - Simple frigates and easier bridges. We took our time with the frigates and barely took any damage. 2nd set of bridges did the most damage with fire.

So, what it looks like is that they have tried to make the Pearl Quest not so "Leetist" and are basing it on Total level of the crew. So, if you are trying to complete it, grab some L10-20 for the crew and see how much easier it is. I hope everyone will find this a much easier task now. Let me know how this works out for you, as I am so tired of doing it now.

Definatly noticed it was harder with a crew of 8 (avg level 35) than 5 (avg level 30). Made it to the last bridge the first time, just cleared the first bridge the second. Died both times.
