How Did You Beat the Boss Battle

I see there are a lot of threads asking for bb help but I really haven't seen a lot of threads discussing the strategies of berating the boss battle after the update.

I am a level 39 with cannon and sailing close to maxxed. I tried it with a couple of high 20 low 30s last nite, but couldn't seem to get through the last set of bridges.

I am just wondering if any of ya experienced boss battler can give some tips and tricks on the boss battle. SOme of the things I discovered while trying is:

1. The difficulty of the boss battle most likely depends on the total notoriety of your crew. When I had 3 people of around level 30 or so, the second set of bridge shoots plain cannon ball at me. Then I had a level 40 friends joining in, and the second set of bridge started shooting FIRE at me.

2. A good way to avoid damage seems to be when dealing with 2nd and 3rd set of bridge, you can park ur ship at the left side of the river such that the right bridge can not shoot at you (blocked by mountain) but you can still shoot at it even though you can not see it.

that is my two cents, any advise would be helpful. Also any of yall completed boss battle with a crew of 5 or less after the updates?

I can give some tips.. my friends and I go on the boss battle every so often. The least amount of people I have completed it with was four, and to this day I don't know how we managed it, but we used one of my friend's strategies to complete this.

For the officers stage: People with voodoo staffs take them down.

For the cannon stage: Divide your crewmembers in half. In our case, two people took the port side and fired from there, and vice versa.

For the bridge stage: We figured out that the left bridge delivers the most damage, so we would attack them in this order: Left, Right, Center, and the person with the most sailing experience would take the wheel.

For the Goliath stage: I have no tips, except that you should probably stock up on cannonballs before you leave for the boss battle. But don't get anxious, because the Goliath is not that hard to defeat.

Those would be my tips from personal experience =)

After trying it a couple of times with people 25+, my friend, our guildmaster, and one of guildmember just did it by ourselves and we won with ease. Four people total.

After clearing the deck put 3 to 1 ratio of people on each side, destroy the ships then go to the side with less people.

For the first bridges it helps if the person steering moves about a bit and uses their broads. Then go through those BACKWARDS, and park your ship on the right side. You can then only take fire on the back of the ship where it is stronger, and it won't weaken any front panels. Take out the tower that is firing at you, and then the 2nd tower is behind a hill you can shoot through. Just shoot at it for a while and then check to make sure it is down before moving on.

For the next bridges take them out as fast as you can, making sure to use Take Cover. Also wait for the Take Cover to recharge after defeating each bridge, someone steering with Leadership helps.

And then for the Goliath, wait for all your skills to recharge, and then use ramming speed to get out in front of it, so you only take damage from two of its deck cannons vs. its 18 guns. Then use broads and let your crew fire away at it.

I had a lot of luck.
First off me and my mates ended up using the fireballs a lot to get rid of thoughs four navy ships fast.
We got rid of the first three forts easy.
We sailed right past the other forts getting hit rarely.
Then we went down to red getting the last few forsts.
The goliath was very easy!
We got maybe a few shots out of it before it sank.
All in all it wasn't too hard.
(this coming from the guy who disco'd out 6 times and lost 5 times!)

I just can not seem to get it done for some reason. I got out of the last set of bridges twice with a lil bit red left in my health bar, then I try to do ramming speed + full sail + take cover to get ahead of the goliath, but it always sank me with its two front guns.

On top of that my guild members are ****ed off at me coz all I talk about is the boss battle and I tend to Hijack the crew I am in to take them to boss battle unwillingly. T.T

Boss battle has ruined my life! T.T

Now I got 4 points in take cover I am gonna try it a few more times this afternoon.

Get as many high leveled crew members as possible.
Once you get past the officers and four attack ships, you destroy the two bridges.
Then, do not stop for the others. I found that stopping for the other bridges will just get you sunk faster.

I've now participated in two (count 'em, two!) successes since the update.

In both cases we failed several times first, but the keys to the wins were organization and planning. The crew does not have to be huge, or super strong. Really, you just need enough staffers to take out the soldiers, and enough people period to fill one side with strong (i.e. maxed Lightning) cannoneers.

Choose who's going to drive before you set out - they should have Take Cover (and know how to use it). Likewise, plan what side(s) you'll be using, and when.

Once on deck and the soldiers are taken care of, "dress the Pearl" (kudos to anyone who gets that), and load your cannon up before moving. Even though you'll get kicked off when the frigates arrive, you'll at least be loaded up, and spread evenly.

When you address the bridges, make sure the best cannoneers are on the proper side. I know nobody likes to sit out, but if you've got someone with super aim and maxed lightning cannonless because the guy with firebrand wants to help...not so good.

Do not try to rush through the channel. Take each set of bridges out systematically; you won't be able to hit the next set until you're through the previous one, but if you're all in position it shouldn't be too difficult.

When all the bridges are down, wait. Let Take Cover recharge, and just chill for a bit, making sure all your cannoneers are set up and loaded.

When you're good to go, use Ramming Speed and Take Cover immediately after the cutscene. If done right, you really can avoid just about all damage. A full side of powerful cannoneers should be able to take the Goliath down fairly quickly.

my tips for beating the BB: i was able like alot of people to do this with just 4 or so people so... once you get past the guards and the surounding ships keep the pearl right where she is flip it sidways right side cannons facing towers

i have no specific order which tower to shoot 1st so.. after the 1st towers are down wedge the ship in the rocks just past them, do that for the 3rd set of towers. NOTE: depending on how much damage you took before getting to the goliath DO NOT use the ramming speed and/or sail till you get it out there, trust me. that and at each set of towers you get to flip the pearl with right side cannons facing toward them.

once you get past the last set and right after the goliath cut scene use your ramming speed and sail if need be and do a little long distance shooting. that is how i beat the BB

I've read this several times, yet none of my BB experiences reflect this. I've tried it with 2(and no level 40s),3,4, and 5-12 pirates, and get firebrand from the second sets of bridges everytime. So im not sure that the number of pirates and thier notorieties makes that big a difference towards 'success'. Having also beat it with 2, and 5+ (never beat it with the 3 or 4.. fewer attempts).

I've found this to be very effective.

I have seen another approach, which surprised me when it worked.
The guy sailing sailed the ship straight up to the center bridge at the start, we couldnt even shoot the center bridge until we took the others out, then he turned slightly so we could take it out. Not sure why it worked, but we still won.

Everyone I am sure has little bits and differences on how they do it.
Last several days I did this quest several times testing different things out. So here is a little input .
Second set of bridges I would bet is just random. I saw both fire and regular canon balls with all variables the same.
I would recommend using full sail first on Goliath, so you can turn some. Then use take cover, and ramming. If you have just a little red left you can survive. (In a crew, and you are that close, make sure your crew doesn't shoot at Goliath while hitting full sail and getting out away from it)

Things I have seen work best.
Have people load there ammo before moving the ship to cut scene.
( At this point I would say lightning wins overall)
Idea is to sink frigates fast in a crew. Have power to right side or ready to move soon as frigates are down.
Soon as frigates die forts fire, be prepared to hit take cover, turn so right side can hit forts, open fire. I did best shooting right side than left solo.
Recharge.

In a crew have everyone on right side canons that you can get.
Don't fire on forts until they go active.

Second set, go through right side turn nose to left, hit take cover, open fire. I always hit left fort first, right through the hill.

Third set, same. Be sure ya get past the bridge beam so your upper canon doesn't hit the beam - ( yes I have done that, and cost me that round)

Last set, I tried several things but fast is best. Same thing, turn fast, take cover, open fire. Both forts will likely hit you here, take cover needs to be timed right. In crews I have seen many people switch to other side of ship here, and been successful.

Goliath I hit full sail, turned to the right a little while hitting take cover, ramming speed. Usually front canon will get a hit on ya.
In a crew should be a lot of hull left and can usually blast it with canons before it can sink ya.

Last stats I had for this were.
Full sail 1
Ramming 1
Open fire 1
Take cover 1
Thunderbolt 5
Barrage 4
Rapid Reload 5
Toughness 5

Take this how you want, good luck.

i hav found that good sailin skill , and fury work real well on the forts try to save as much hull strenght on the lelf side to meet the goliath . when sailin u can use the the landscape to sheild the ship also. i have made it thur with as few as 4 and full crew. after each bridge, fort etc let ur skill recharge. dont forget if ur doin the sailin use ur boardside also.

How I Beat My Boss Battle and Those Of My Friends...

First I have the GREATEST BOSS BATTLER in my friends list!!! Swashbuckler II from Itchy Pillows Guild!!!

He has some rules to follow that have been successful, and if Disney would have a BOSS BATTLE LEADERBOARD, he'd be on it ALL the time!!!

Unfortuanately, now you can only do 10 BB's per day, SUCCESSFULLY!!

Here's what Swashbuckler II does from my vantage point:

1- Limits crew to 6 to 8 members. Most need staffs, but not everyone has to have them, but if they are lower levels, they should RUN LIKE THE WIND!!! [This is for the first phase of the BB, with the officers. Once the officers are defeated by the staffers, the lower levels that survived will be able to enjoy the BB!]

2- Tells everyone to hit ESC as soon as the cutscene starts and to do it til it goes away. [If you have seen the cutscene once, you have seen it enough!!]

3- Tells everyone when you defeat the officers, you will need to split sides and grab a cannon! [Put half of the crew on each side of the ship to take down the little ships in the harbor! ONE KEY HERE: DO NOT USE FIRE, LIGHTNING, or FURY, as they cause MAJOR LAG!!]

4- Tells everyone when the harbor ships are defeated to go to the RIGHT SIDE of the ship!!! He turns the ship so all are facing the bridges on the right side of ship.

5- Now for the towers!!! For the first set of bridges, two members shoot each bridge, using fury or lightning until they break. Then they should still split towers, but since there are two on each side, everyone shoots according to the side they are on, if you are to the frontmost cannons of the ship, you shoot left.. If you are on the backmost cannons of the ship, you shoot right.. This way the bridges come down almost together. This is where good captianing comes in very handy, you have to tell your crew what to shoot towards BEFORE going into battle as there are always one or two "LOOSE CANNONS" on each ship!! He keeps the ship CLOSE to the last set of towers defeated as to not take DIRECT hits, you can shoot THROUGH the rock!!

6- Now that all the bridges are down, here's the FUN part!!! Everyone gets on the LEFT SIDE of the ship!!! He tells you to use your best ammo for this phase, which is the GOLIATH!!! Everyone shoot as fast as you can, meanwhile he pulls the ship out as fast and far as he can, turns so that the LEFT side is FACING the oncoming GOLIATH as everyone continues to shoot at it, until the GOLIATH goes down and the BLACK PEARL sails away!!!

Well, at least that's how we do ours, CUDO's to SWASHBUCKLER II !!!!!

Well, I almost solo'd it. My friend solo'd it and he was only level 29. I was 33 when I beat it, did it with about 2 or 3 other people. 1 was a MP(Master Pirate, including weapons I think).

I've heard about this, I dont care about folks glitching, the problem I have with this is.. you get one Boss Battle.

You've been questing for hours, days, weeks, maybe months to get there.

Why skirt past it after having spending all that time to get there?

I felt cheated when I had my first pirates boss battle hijacked, I abandoned him and started a new one immediately.
Theres no way I would consider cheating to win my Boss Battle.

And I do see using glitchs to beat the Boss Battle as cheating, what else could it possibly be?
