Dagger: Sidewinder or Viper's Nest?
I guess I want to know for those who might use these, do I need both, or should I try to put all points in one of them? Any advice would be helpful. I'd rather put all in one, just because I would like to put some more in Finesse and Blade Instinct.

Both are great. Vipers nest is good for damaging multiple enemies, and sidewider is good for single baddies.
But I guess it all comes down to your style of play. Do you use the dagger more for the ranged aspect or for melee combat. Also take into accound that your Finesse and Blade Instinct affect your Cutlass as well, so it all boils down to what you want. |

Viper's Nest does a lot of damage, but it takes longer to recharge, costs more, has less spaces for the attack, and doesnt have an effect. On the other hand, Sidewinder costs less, you can hold more, does less damage, recharges quicker, but has an effect. It really does depend on what you want it for. Do you want more damage over time, or more damage quicker?

And Vipers Nest has that annoying little habit of attracting anything that is in the area. You might be doing great but let off one of those and suddenly you have another high level bad guy in your face. You have to look at your surroundings before using it.
A little in both wouldn't hurt (3 in SW, 2 in VN??) |

What does the wounding effect even do? I've never been sure about that.

I was reading thinking, I should let them know the advantage of Vipers nest is that it attacks multiple mobs, not just the single mob of attention. It does not attract anything in the area, only mobs in alignment with the mob you attack, you have to 'hit' the mobs with it to attract them, general vacinity is not enough as a prior poster indicated. |

On the whole I love Viper's Nest but I did have a couple of mishaps with it while I was leveling daggers as well where I gained an extra Hired Gun or Raider in the fight. It takes a little getting used to (and a little caution). That's all. |

Agreed! Have been there myself. You have to be careful, just like when using Flaming Skull on staff. |

I went 5 points in vipers nest. Too many times hit soldiers with flaming skull twice on a flag ship and a few left. So viper nest was a easy finish, rather than building up another flaming skull attack.

Baseball Bat? No no no... SOFTBALL bat. Made of aluminum... rinses clean and doesn't leave any splinters behind. And for all those people ready to jump on me that some baseball bats are made of aluminum now (up to College). I'm just old enough (but not quite as old as our esteemed moderator) to associate "baseball" with wooden bats. The crack of the bat is still a unique sound and is by far superior to the "ping" of a metal bat. I think I'm contractually obligated to yell at the kids on my lawn now.... |

It really does depend on what you are looking for in your dagger. In my opinion, i choose viper's nest because i like doing big damage real quick, but thats just my opinion. Now if you excuse me, there is a Seabeard in tormenta with my daggers name on it.

I maxed out vipers nest just because I mainly trained at tormenta at the time i was lvling my dagger and that was the strongest move and i really needed some strong attacks.
