Agreed. Or you can just demote everyone until it is fixed. PIC has had this issue before and I was forced to demote everyone except for the Co-Guildmasters. Either promoting everyone or demoting everyone would help in my opinion.

I would go with demote because promote can allow everyone to add people to the guild.

Savvy has done that before, shes's demoted everyone except co-Gms untill the problem is resolved. Making everyone an officer isnt really a great idea...just think. the time it takes a GM to make EVERYONE an officer

I would have to say the "demote" option seems to be most sound.
Granting "everyone" power when your in a situation that requires control, could quickly grow out of control. |

Bottom line people: Do not trust anyone with any type of authoritive power what so ever right away.
I admit that I was a little off with my last post here. From first hand experience with guild deleters, I'll give you my two cents... People could seem very nice and friendly at first, and if they seem like the officer type, discuss said officer candidate with the other members of your guild; members, officer, Co-GMs, anyone in the guild who has observed the person's behavior well enough to give you a good opinion. In some cases, the rouge member may have lots of people recommending his or her promotion, and in most cases, the GM would promote. And as soon as the GM and possibly Co-GMs are offline, the rouge attacks! There is no preventing that if one of your so called "good officers" suddenly turns on you. But there is a way to fix it. Urge as many guildmates as possible to join POF, a guild site, or any other site in which they can keep in touch should something like that happen. That way, the ejected guildies can always meet in game and re-guild. Another thing to look out for are people who are too friendly at the second they join. Example: *one second after joining* New Member (G): "Oh my!! This guild is sooo coool! I am never leaving!!! You people are AWESOME!!" Yeah....it's obvious. A rouge would want the majority of the guild to trust and like them, so if they ever get promoted one day and eject the members, the GM would never suspect that it was the strangely over-friendly one. People tend to be curious, shy, or unsure at first when joining a new guild. Anyone who is that friendly so soon are the ones to watch out for. If a situation like that happens, I agree now that demoting is best, since officer status grants people the power to invite who ever they want. And FYI, when this happened in PIC a few months ago, the joker didn't eject any members (thankfully). Be careful about who you promote because you never know who you are promoting. And always remember that a good guild never dies. |

Use yer friends list as your life-preserver. Think about it: even if your guildies get ejected, the next time they come on POTCO you'll see them and be able to bring them right back into the guild.

That's why I proposed a Lock option; as well, you can give out redeemable codes of the unlimited use sort. Demoting is the quicker choice though.

This has been one of those catch 99 type things, that has been terrible in this game. Disney goes to all lengths to make sure we don't give out personal information, email etc.
The other hand the guild system has many many flaws to it, especially without outside and other contact. Probably most noticeable has been the guilds with gm's leaving and no status left for currant players to even add others, or way to ever get a hold of them. My recommendations, all GM's have a few players in the guild that is not known by everyone else as it being a alt. This can be always a ongoing circle, as soon as you log off and then pop the gm on, and the player that refused to quit cussing is gone. Soon everyone will pick up its you, and re-roll. A couple times of this, if enough members are around and on, nobody knows for sure when they can be bad or not. Personal friends in the same guild can always make outside contact if there is problems. Outside guild sites etc. I find the best option, fighting the ban's. Set up a forum, have members all register, and keeps outside contact of things happening 24/7. A voice option as well a bigger plus, such as vent. Another nice battle with Disney, but a added perk to game play and chat, as well as message system outside the game. Make sure your Gm has that wonderful bell ring when a message comes through at like 3 in the morning, haha. Yes officers can't remove other officers. Demoting works if you know something is coming. Many times it just ends up today was the day this person and that clash, and blows up like that. Redeemable codes can be good for those you most trust, usually ends up those are who the officers are already though. |

Keyhole the known greifers as an example to others who maybe try to follow the same path. Kidding aside...I believe that Disney needs to change the rules so that only the Guildmaster would have the power to delete. Other officers could guild peeps but not delete...and must go to GM with solid reasons for deletion of anyone. In the absence of the GM...and only if he/she is gone for an extended period...the Co-Gm's would be put in charge by the GM for that task. In the meantime..while waiting on Disney Bart's idea of friending would be a definite aid in re-claiming guild mates that may be deleted.
