They didn't want to release 6 during Christmas due to the new movie Twilight, they didnt want to compete with it. They moved it to the summer of '09 thinking that they had better luck during the summer months and due to the fact that HP star Daniel Radcliffe was busy in NYC doing his Broadway debut with the play Equus. And yes, 7 will be split into 2 movies, one being released in '10 and part two in '11. This is one HP fan who cannt wait themselves for the movie release

They wouldn't need to compete with it but it's too late. They obviously haven't taken the time to see what they're competing with during summer of 09. Hopefully the sixth movie wont be as much of a disappointment as the fifth movie.
