What is a good computer that pirates online can handle, has good graphics card, good processor and is at a low cost? Cause I might get another computer so that my bother and I can play at the same time. So thanks!

You can get a Dell Inspiron 518 Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processor Q8200 (4MB, 2.33GHz, 1333FSB) with 4GB3 Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz (4 DIMM), ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB supporting HDMI and a 20 inch S2009WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel Monitor for about $699.00. There are many custom configurations that will change the price. The three main things not to skimp on are CPU, RAM and Video Card.

I've played the game on several computers, and my Macbook has by far had the best performance. In fact, it's had the best performance on just about everything... Anyway, as far as cost, I think you can get the older white model starting at 800 now that they have released the aluminum models. (The white model isn't really "old," I bought mine new in July of '08.) It's still not the cheapest computer out there, but you certainly get what you pay for.

I've got a budget Dell computer with an athlon 64 x2 4400+ (2.30 Ghz) , with an nvidia geforce 9400 gt with 512 memory and 4 gigs of system memory. and it handles pirates well. So anything with these specs or better should do you. I would advise maxing memory (4 gigs on a 32 bit machine) it's cheap and does a lot for performance. and focus on a good budget video card (mine was less the $100) with at least 256 memory of it's own and avoid shared memory. Nice thing about pirates is that it doesn't demand a super system with a top of the line video card like some games do.

You should be able to get a $400 desktop that will do just fine if you shop around a bit.

I agree the Macs perform well especially in the graphics arena. However they have historically cost more than the PC and are not compatible with some applications/games available for the PC. Please do your homework on availability for software titles for the Mac OS prior to purchasing. I can tell you for the most part...you can run most of the essential applications. Most importantly....it does run POTC Online!! I found a nice one on Ebay a couple of years back.....still runs great. I mostly use my PC's on XP and Vista but still whip out the macbook every now and then.

The newer Intel based Macs can run windows very well either using dual boot with Bootcamp or as a virtual machine using virtualbox. Also since OSX is essentially a form of UNIX with a Mac interface it can run UNIX programs as well. So you can run more stuff on a Mac then a PC. The only thing between me and a Mac is the cost. I can get my needs met a lot more economically with a PC.

Yeah, recent Macs can run just about anything you care to run, but most games that are released for PC aren't released for Mac, or they are released much, sometimes even years, later. However, if POTCO is your only concern in the game arena, I'd still say go for it. But I agree- do your homework first and make sure the computer you buy can run everything you need to run.

That's the major trade-off when buying a Mac. It costs a good deal more, but it saves you the hassles of crashes, freeze-ups, etc.
