This issue waill be about the legondary pirate island Tortuga! Where all pirates know there not really safe... But they can have a good time! Every pirate knows that The Faithfull Bride is the Tavren to be, but does anyone know how it started? Well we have the answer! Here is the long looked for answer to it!

Faithfull Bride 10 year aniverery by The Commodorer

10 years ago, two brothers were tired of the single bar on Tortuga. Sure, the King's Arm was great and all, but it got far to busy. They wanted a place that would be classier, one that would attract the people they were used to hanging out with.

So, they bought the old warehouse in downtown Tortuga and began fixing it. They got the supplies and were open in a matter of days. Calling it the Faithful Bride after one's wife, it became a sensation. Within the first few weeks, most of the Caribbean had visited it.

However, they eventually needed to begin producing their own rum. The brothers bought a small part of rumrunner's and created the now famous Barbados Distilling Company.

Ben's Tips!
For lvl 20-30 a good way to lvl up dagger is fighting Gypsies (or anything with Voodoo you can handle) and using Asp, Through Dirt, or Vipers nest to break there Attunement for up to 10 seconds and that means they can’t attack you.

Currently, there are no plans for a PVP island. I do think this is a great idea though and will send it up to the team!

We are always pleased to hear from our Guests and welcome your comments, as we are constantly balancing and making enhancements to the game to make Pirates Online a fun and safe place to play online.

Changes to the Caribbean
Many updates have come to Pirates Online. These updates include making the ships sink stern-first again, returning the mast breaking sound, and speeding loading times for Windows 7 users. One user, Chris, says "Nice only why windows 7?? I run Vista and it used to take f-o-r-e-v-e-r for the game to load after those updates. I hope whatever fixed it on 7 also fixed it on vista." Sven Niscadae says that it only works for Windows 7. Also, some still gripe about the easier to take down masts.

On a happier note, the results are in for the scariest screenshot contest. The winners are Jacob Dark Dragon, Jeanne Stormcutter, Jinsai, John Stormmenace, and Kraken Guard. These winners recieved a Pirates Online Tribal skull, with their name and achievement engraved in the skull.
On December 26th – 30th, Disney released more GM events. These were about Constance Sorrow and John Moses. Disney announced two-five servers for the event depending on the day, which meant you had to server swap to get to them. Some people like this event, while others say different. One person, Jade Ironcastle, said “anyone know when potc will "really" add something new and interesting to the game, other then little side things like this?” Another person looks at an optimistic perspective, saying that the events are linked with invasions, and the invasions lead to new story chapters.

An announced update has many pirates thinking. Disney announced that people will play Pirates Online from a web browser. Djr 8fan says “Pixie Hollow is like this. I dont think this is gonna be a good thing for Pirates…” Discovered was that you had to re-download the game before being able to play it from a web browser.
On January 1rst, Tepcat announced the graphic trio contest winners. The contest was to create a signature, an avatar, and a profile picture, all with the same theme. The winner got a lifetime subscription, while two runner-ups got mega subscription (one year). The winner was Julia Maria, in second/third place (places not specified) were Capt Seafury and es8404. Congratulations to the winners.

Also, on January 1rst, the “POF Armada” set sail. This happened on 2:00 pm PDT. You were supposed to set said on your ships, meeting the flagships The Cutthroat Rouge, The Bilge Dragon, The Storm Runner, The Shadow Rouge, and The Shadow Wolf. After sailing around the Caribbean, you blockaded Port Royal. All members who posted a screenshot of the event got an award.

The Curse of the Death Dagger by Mark Bladeflint


The night was dark and the wind was cold, unlike most nights in the Caribbean where it is normally warm. After being out at sea for days on end we could finally see the shoreline of Padres Del Fugo. Sadly one of the hardest part of the trip was getting to port itself. The lava that flowed from the volcano have went into the water causing there to be a large under water formation that will slam into
ships and sink them very fast if they are not carefull. But there we no open ports for us to dock so we could not port. We were forced to go to another island to port because it was to dangeras to port there. We had to sail to Tortuga with a worn out crew from the long jorney. As soon as we ported at Tortuga we were ambushed by a group of people that you were not to expect to be there. We were then forced to fight for our lives, or become one of them...

It's good, but I would take your comments after each piece. It is making it sound like a TV newscast and it might distract the readers from the work each one of you guys is doing.

I would also go through the image posting guide to post your logo on Top.

On DK's news separate them in small paragraphs. That whole part seems like its only one news item.

The bolds that begins each item I would center it. This will let your readers know that a new part is starting.

Other than that and typos you guys are off to a good start. Keep it up!

And not sure what you are refering to when it comes to Vista. That was fixed when 7 was fixed. Have both types of machines and Vista loads just fine, nothing like it did just after the big update.

Other than that, not bad for a first issue.

The Faithful Bride story was created by my idle mind and turned into a short transcription of it.

Yes, it is a complete and utter work of fiction.

I like it and I will read it again.This is something worthwhile as long as you have a good crew beheind you Mark.Minor issues for a first installment such as the logo needs to be viewable at the top and a few other kinks in the gramar and layouts,Skirata pretty much covered that.The news is good,and I would recomend puting in a pirate riddle about the size of the story if you ever get a chance.Good newsletter mate,as well as a good start.Pirate Lords begin as scrappy swabbies,but you have even more to begin with!

Sorry to disappoint y'all, but the Faithful Bride story goes against Disney's version of it. In the POTC : Jack Sparrow prequels, when Jack was a teenager he went to the bride and after a fight met with the Barmaid Arabella Smith before they set off on their journey to find the sword of Cortes. So technically this would have happened about 20-30 years ago.
Arabella reveals herself to be the daughter of the owner of the Bride, who set it up along with her mother for rich classy people to come. But brawls and bar fights by pirates who stopped by scared them all off and they were nearly in ruins.
Arabella's mother was kidnapped by pirates and never returned, so her father became a drunk and Arabella ran the place.
But later it was revealed that her mother ran away with the pirates to escape the low earnin' life of theirs at the Bride.
Now, in the end of the prequels, Arabella begins to date Bill Turner, and this has speculated most people to believe that she is the mother of William Turner, so technically William is the actual owner of the bar by inheritance.
