Fly Trap

As part of the quest to get my first teleportation, I have to defeat a Fly Trap plant. The other parts of this quest were pretty easy, but even at lvl 10, the lowest fly trap I can find is a lvl 16, and it whips me pretty good.

Are there any lower lvl fly trap plants around, or do I need to get a big group to help me defeat the plant? So far, I've only found them in Cuba.

Sometimes you can find level 9 fly traps in Cuba. The best thing is to make sure you have people with you that can help you. You might also want to try the flytraps in Tortuga also.

If you want to play solo, what you can do is make some damage on the flytrap, go to jail, and then go back to that same flytrap. I remember one time it took me about 6 times of going to jail before I got that flytrap

There are sometimes level 9 fly traps in the Misty Mire on Tortuga. After you enter stick to your left and go through the two torches (right before you get to the high level undeads) - there is a fly trap in there and I've seen it range from level 9 to level 12. Try shooting it a couple times first from a distance and then attack with your cutlass. Good luck! Oh, and make sure ye have lots of tonic in hand!

Edit: Just went back there & the fly trap was a level 14. Left (went to jail, lol) and let it reload and it was a 9 so I guess keep checking back and maybe you'll get lucky.

That one was a hard one for me in beta. I finally had to have a level 16 take the first shot (so he would be the one attacked) and I alternated between taking shots at it and tooning up my friend since he was being attacked. It worked out really well. Before that, even with several players, I kept going to jail.

I'm a Lv9 pirate and I found a Lv9 fly trap to the right as you go in to the Cuba swamp with Tia (to the left if you're going back toward the entrance from Tia). It was hidden back a ways. I was able to hack it to bits with my Iron Cutlass on the first try. Good luck!

Yeah, search the swamp there. I found a lvl 9-10 there and downed him with another guy when I was lvl 9

OK, thanks for everyone's help. I found the Lvl 9 fly trap on Tortuga. If you enter the swamp from the beach, he was on the left through the path with the 2 torches flanking it. If you reach all the higher lvl undead, you've passed it.
