When boarding - can you stay on ship?
Hi to all...
I was out and about yesterday with a crew of 5 on my medium galleon boarding ships. On all boarding raids the entire crew boarded the enemy ship, but this one time for some reason i stayed behind while still working the cannon. Thought that was great, as i could use bucketshot to kill the higher lvl guards. But the thing is, i couldn't replicate this... Is there some way you can NOT board a ship while the rest of the crew does? Another question is, can you abort a boarding? Aka you know your losing and just want to jump back to your ship to get the heck out... or is it a win or die situation? Thanks for any info. |

Nope, it's just a current bug in the game that causes you to stick to the cannon. ^^
In otherwords, it's win or die.

Had this happen the other night.
My crew left me on the deck next to a cannon. Course that was a good thing, as they would've got smoked had I not peppered the enemy's deck with cannon. Funny thing was, since then I've always got drug accross to the other ship while on the cannon or not. |

No you can't. Just like you can't "accidentally" shoot your buddies (or any other PC) in any combat situation. And that was a good thing for them, because i was dropping shells right on them.

Ive had that happen a few times.... sometimes one or two crew are left behind while the others swing over. Its odd when it happens!

We sink flagships routinely, usually several a run, and I cant count the number of times this has happened to us.
It seems to happen more if people are TPing to the ship rather than boarding from the dingy. But, it doesnt seem to matter who teleported. They may or may not be the one who gets left on our ship. And with the next ship it may or may not be somebody else. We use it to our advantage when boarding higher level flagships, and like the others who already posted, use the cannons to take out the higher level enemies. If there isnt a need for it (if the crew on the enemy ship isnt in any danger) we dont fire, and let them have their fun. Note: If you do get left, you will not be able to move. To remedy this, draw a weapon, either using one of the F keys or by hitting the control button. You should then be able to move.

Hmm, actually there is a limit to how many people can board a certain ship. Usually, whoever did the most damage with cannons and the captain get sent to board. Some people might get left behind either because of a bug or because there is no more room. Then those people have the advantage of staying behind with the cannons. Sometimes, you might get stuck, and all you have to do is draw a weapon.
