can't log in/acct verification failed

a friend of mine (she doesn't have an account here so im posting for her), got booted yesterday and hasn't been able to log in since.

i was booted at the same time and i was immediately able to sign back in just fine, but she hasn't been able to login since she was booted.

when she tries to log in it says "There is a problem verifying the Account ID". she gave it a while, tried again. she's tried basically everything, reinstalling, changing the pw, i even logged into her account just fine on my computer as a test. she's able to log in just fine on po.com, it's the game that's giving her problems.

HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE?? DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT? this is extremely frustrating for her, i'm sure you can all agree, knowing how addicting this game is...
