New "feature"??

A few friends and I were sailing tonight on test, all crewed up... and we discovered there was someone in our crew that we had not invited. We investigated this later, after asking who he was, and how he got on our crew... (No we didn't use the lead pipes). We found there is a new "find a crew" button, where it will ask if you would like to join someone else's crew. It does NOT ask the crew leader if they would like this person in their crew. The person that joined our crew was doing PvP, and we were doing gold runs, so he really had no use for our bunch, but if this "feature" goes to open, I have a feeling that there will be people just joining any crew they choose. I usually know everyone on my crew, and know that they are not "kids"... so don't always keep the tone of the conversations totally "G" rated. I don't think that I like that anyone is able to just join, without at least the crew leader being asked if they can.

Another "feature" we noticed last night, the filters no longer turn filtered words to "arrgh" or give you any indication that what you are saying is being filtered. A friend and I were joking about Pirate names, and one of them had "martini" in it. She kept asking what name I submitted, I kept telling her... I finally realized that the filters have become like the TT ones, and we just don't know what is filtered, and what isn't.

I hope Skip you sent in a Bug Report to Member Services or through the Bug Screen... otherwise they wil never know and it will go to Open. I try to send in reports of anything I find every two-three days (I compile a list, then send it in at once).

LOL, yes Max, I sent my bug reports. Having been a Disney tester since before time began, I know the routine! I sent the bug, and made sure that all I was with did also. The reason I posted about this bug, is that unless you have someone actually join your crew that you didn't invite, you would not be aware of it and I wanted to make sure that other testers would be aware of this, and send bugs also. As a die hard tester, I realize that sometime we need to make other testers aware of issues, so that we can duplicate the issue, and all send in our daily reports. With new releases I tend to send in several bugs a day, as do most of the people I play with.

ahoy, ya know i was wondering how that "feature" worked. I thought that the player that clicked the "find a crew" option would be paired up with another pirate using the "looking for crew" option..that would make more sense then to tp randomly board someone's ship without permission and find them cannoning on your crew out of nowhere. thats definetly a bug that needs attention fixing aye? ..hmmmm gonna have to try that see what happens.

Maybe the crew leader had activated the "Recruit crewmates" button.
He/she can see it's activated from the blinking green light on that button.
When activated every stranger who clicked on "Find a Crew" button and meet
the criteria set in the "Recruit crewmates" will automatically join the crew.
The crew leader will be notified when there is a new crew added.
If the "Recruit crewmates" button not activated no one can join our crew
without manual invitation from the crew leader.
So your case is a bug ONLY if your crew leader didnt activate that "Recruit crewmates".

I was the crew leader last night. I did not activate the recruit crew button at any time. I was NOT notified he had joined the crew, we were all surprised when he started talking. We had a big crew at the time and if he hadn't said something probably would've gone unnoticed.

We also tested it later before going to bed, I clicked on find a crew and was offered two different ones.

Tonight we tested it again. Skip and I were side by side working same exact quest, and it did not offer him our crew.
