As has happened before, I didn't have some of these issues until after they supposedly fixed them!

I was tracking a "Kill 10 Stumps" quest from Johnny McVane and the "ray of light" illuminated practically every NPC I passed by (including dear Orinda on the Tortuga docks).

Furthermore, I then sailed to Cutthroat and discovered that anything I killed was giving me credit as a "Stump": Giant Crab = Stump, Undead Gypsy = Stump, Spanish Captaine = Stump, etc., etc. I ended up completing the quest without ever having killed a single bloody Stump!
